Also this year I've attended the local pride festival with the political party I'm active in.

I used to go watch the pride parade just for the spectacle.

However, after watching it a few times, I got bored of it, and no longer bother going.

BTW, judging by those pics, your pride walk has a lot less "spectacle". Local nudity laws different? Topless is legal here (Toronto), for both men and women, so sometimes the strip bars use the walk as an excuse to show off their strippers nearly nude outside, regardless of the fact they have almost nothing to do with the pride festival otherwise.

nope, it's legal to go topless in Denmark, it's also legal to run around butt naked in many places. Copenhagen pride generally has all the nudity and weird S/M shit.

(Denmark is very, very socially liberal when it comes to stuff like this)

Celebrating that people aren't discriminated because of their sexuality and raising awareness that some places you'll get the dead penalty for being homosexual?

This year our government made lesbian moms get equal parenthood, made it legal for homosexuals to get a wedding in a church (not just a ceremony as earlier) and for transsexuals to get a legal sex change.

But still we hear about people being attacked (also in Denmark) for no other reason than that their gay.

One of my main reasons for being political active is for people to be able to live the life they want and not being discriminated because of their sexuality, religion or color. And as long you hear about this I will do what I can to help stop it.

There were actually a Canadian gay stand up comedian, who ended his act by taking a dance with our mayor.

I've gone to a couple just because they are entertaining. Little is more amusing to me than gay people acting flamboyantly gay in large groups for fun. A glimpse of the occasional assless chaps wearer is a small price to pay.

People need hope and these pride parades give people a sense of community and belonging when they probably went trough a lot to get there
