Yep, calling them will just bring the error to thier attention (if it is one) and they will fix it before anyone can get in on it. Well, I saved a copy of the page showing the $49.97 price, so I'll have something I can print out. I wonder if I should buy one now and take it back sunday and get the price...

Dude, since mail in rebates are involved, this is dead before it even started. What are you going to do, buy it and ask for your non-existant $449 mail in rebate?

EDIT: I called and in reality it's a $50 mail in rebate. So, the after MIR price is $449. They left a 4 off of the price. Hopefully this saves everyone a trip. I wet myself when I first saw this....too bad it's not true

I imagine you might be able to get compusa to pricematch themselves down to whatever price its supposed to be, if the rebates don't exist, or perhaps I'm just dreaming too much. I have a feeling there will be some sorta rebate, I mean why advertise this as a special with rebates if its just the normal price it is now? Probably they meant to put $449 with $30 or $40 mail in rebate, so there is probably going to be some sorta rebate come sunday. Question is, how much?

My dad went in on a pool for the local lotto last week. They missed the $50 million jackpot by 1 number. One number... they did win $1500, but split 10 ways he only got $150. It can happen Unfortunately, I'm willing to bet its going to be as hard or harder to get this price from compusa as it is to win the lottery.

<< I already called them, they already know about the eror, they'll have disclaimers posted & it's highly unlikely anyone will PM that price without calling Crap USA, if not for the price, for the rebate info so they could do an accurate PM.

My local Crap USA would laugh me out of the store with that price...

Pliablemoose, while it may be a misprint, I can guarentee you the price in the advertisement is NOT supposed to be $499 after savings and rebate since it's priced at $499 RIGHT NOW WITH NO SAVINGS AND REBATES! You just got another dumb CSR on the phone, or you're just yanking people's chains.

I sorta alluded to this above. It was probably a silly CSR, most of them don't know what they are talking about. Sure they may not intentionally mislead you, and may even belive what they tell you, but you can get 3 differant all wrong answers from CSR's calling 3 times. If you ever work in retail of any type or just visit a computer store, you can see this happening all the time. People give out answers they think are correct, but are wrong. Sometimes they just give out an answer to avoid going to the trouble of fully explaining things, or they just say whatever they think of first so they can avoid saying "I don't know."

Let me be the first to say that I will personally "take out back and shoot" the first person that says:

"This is false advertising! I'm gonna sue CC! We have to make a stand here! We can't let them get away with this!".

<< If you-all hadn't noticed, I hate Crap usa, rebates are slow & frequently denied, I tried to get them to PM their own web-price @ a B&M on an item & ended talking to corporate for 2 hours, end result was "Well our web site & B&M are 2 different entities, so we can't & won't PM ourselves." >>

Well, you better hate all stores then, because this is pretty common. Target, Kohls, Macy's, Dillard's, Best Buy, Bluelight/KMart, and just about every other store I know will not match their web price with the B&M price. The only store I know of that will freely do this is ToysRUs.

A little creative cutting and you are the first one to say it

Actually my experience at Toys R Us was the complete opposite: "Sir, the web site is run by amazon.com, we're not even the same company, sorry." Staples and Circuit City stores will match Online pricing.

<< Obvious pricing error and CompUSA will not honor it. It is near impossible to get CompUSA to honor the legitimate prices for the web printout sales letalone a pricing error. Their disclaimer at he bottom of the page give them an out...

Any typographical, photographic or production error in products, pricing or offers is subject to correction.

Too bad they had to include "*after rebates" disclaimer in the ad as you might be able to PM somewhere else if they did not inlude that statement.

I just ordered cannon S330 yesterday. If this c-2100 deal is true, I will take c-2100 and cancel the DELL order. At this moment, well, let's see what will happen on Sunday!

I haven't tried to do this since ToysRUs moved thier site to Amazon. I was able to do it all the time when they had their own site. The last time I tried PMing the web site was with those RC Humvees a few months back. Got a 49mhz version to go with the $15.00 27mhz version I got online They gladly did it then.

hahahaahah frigging compUSA. And freaking people who called in too. I bet they are going to fix it again later, because it says that price is after savings and rebate, and its exactly the same as it is today. Of course, I wouldn't put it past them to RAISE the price on sunday when/if they introduce any savings or rebates. BTW, I saved a copy of the web page when it shows 49.97, I doubt I can do anything with it but its worth a try.

<< lol!! I cant believe you guys EVEN thought this camera would be only 50 bux! ROFL!! >>

I didn't really... Heck, you can hardly find any new digicams of any type for that much. Unless you count web cams or crap like that. But you never know, when stuff is being discontinued, some places will give huge markdowns. I got a discontinued $400 panasonic camcorder for like $200 and a $50 mail in rebate from compusa a while back. It wouldn't surprise me if at least one person will get the camera out of the deal, there's always some manager somewhere who can be convinced of anything.

Nothing listed for it in the rebate department.
Adds to cart as $499.97.

Link to digital camera rebates at comp usa

<< Of course it adds to your cart at $499.97. Of course there is no rebate listed. If it is legitimate the sale doesn't start until SUNDAY! And when it does start (if they don't change it) , the deal isn't going to be available online. >>

It said $49.97 after savings and rebates. Just informing people of the upfront price they would have to lay down. People were interested in how much was savings and how much was rebates, so I gave the information available, which was that the rebate is not yet available. This saves people the time of going to the site and adding it to their cart and/or looking for the rebate. Sorry for adding some actual information to the post instead of speculation.

Of course not everyone is as smart as you and could gather this information out of thin air.
