This is by far the best price I've ever seen for Video Essentials!!!

I wish I could justify it...but the calibration tools on the Die Hard Five-Star disc are good enough for my needs...

Yeah just Buy Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition, It has a great THX, DTS , DVD calibration System. Don't wait money on buying it seperate. The THX calibration system is as good as they come.

Just wanting to confirm what DeaDSOuLz posted about T2: Ultimate Edition having a calibration system that works as well as Video Essentials. Considering I can get T2 for about the same price as this Video Essentials, I'd rather go down that path if DeaDSouLz statement is true.

The THX tests only have White Balance. I think this disc has much more than that.

the limited calibration on the T2 disc is not nearly enough if you want your display to look as good as possible (this is especially true if you have a RPTV). It may be good enough for some/most, but then that's not who the product is marketed to anyways =)

Yes...the THX Calibration (Optimode) is available on a number of discs also including the Toy Storys...but it is not an end all be all calibration. The point of those calibrations are for specifically calibrating stuff for that particular movie.

I got this disk over two years ago when I bought my DVD player. Everyone raved about how great it was.......

It's really no big deal. Just a bunch of test and sound patterns, and, frankly, I don't agree with half of their suggestions regarding color levels, brightness and contrast.

Frankly, I go with the T2 or DieHard calibration tools. Really
