Login scripts

I have issues with my users wanting access to drives and directories and such. So I now have about 20 login scripts and the only difference is the drives they login to. I know there is a way to verify membership of an OU then map the drive. But everything I have been able to find is over my head in programming. Anything easy I can do to have all my drives listed on one script and map the drive if they have permission?

Why not appy the OU scripts to a group, and then put the users into those groups?

or use a seperate group policy on the OUs to only run the appropreate scripts?

This is probably the best idea. Or alternatively you can put all the users that need a certain drive mapped into a group and then have the logon script check the users groups and map the appropriate drives.

well he was initially asking to have the scripts applied to users who are members of differant OUs, applying the scripts per-OU w/ group policy would give him just that...

My problem is that there are users in one OU that need different drives. Could be several needed several different drive lineups.

I would take a look at IFMEMBER. Seeing how you hvae members in the same OU needing different drives it could be easier to use groups.

This is exactly what I'm looking for, very basic programming needed (I lack programming!) But putting in my own shares and servers and it doesn't move past the ifmember Security_group1 then it startes over in an endless loop...

Not sure I understand your post. I have tried your code and have had no problems after I change shares and group names.

The code I used is
@echo off
rem check for resource utility
IF NOT EXIST %windir%\IFMEMBER.EXE copy \\server\share\ifmember.exe %windir%

IFMEMBER "Group"
IF NOT %errorlevel% EQU 1 GOTO Network
net use z: \\server\share /persistent:no

:Network
pause

And I was able to map a drive.
