Logitech G3 Died

I was in the middle of a game, and all the sudden the mouse just stopped working properly.

It's weird, I can move the mouse around and get normal response, but the left click seems like it just died. And it's only intermittent, sometimes I can click but if I sit there clicking over and over it won't click sometimes.

It could be that the plastic just wore down, and the click is weak and I need to press harder. But I've had that happen lots of times and it was never so abrupt like this.

also when I drag for selections, it just cuts out and restarts and starts dragging from where ever it left out.

I did a warranty claim through logitech and I got a G500 as a replacement as the g3 and all the other good mice were discontinued.

So I was wondering if I can take apart the g500 and put the stuff inside into the g3 case, as I hate the shape, size, and weight of the g500.

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? Or can someone point me to another site/forum where they would?

Alternatively, I'd be willing to sell/trade the g500 for a g3, g1, or MX300 or something.

I've had the left click fail on a Logitech mouse before as well. Why don't you try to get used to the G500 instead of using old tech that is just going to die again? And when it dies again you will be even less likely to find a working old mouse like the ones you listed as a replacement.

g500 has adjustable weight if you think it's too light.

Sucks they gave you a G500, the G9 is far more in line with what the G3 offered, although I can't say I'm too surprised as I believed they discontinued the G9 for the G9x which is definitely more expensive than the G500, so its not too surprising they gave you the cheaper alternative.

If he's coming from a G3, the G500 is, if anything, too much of a fat ass. Even with out weights its one of the biggest/heaviest mouses on the market.

^That sucks. I've never used either one, just MX518 and G5. The G5 feels pretty light to me and MX518 is even lighter.

I would sell you my 4-5 year old mx310 but it is has killed to many zombies/nazis/badguys for me to part with. I see ebay has new g3's for $40 if you are desperate

Mx518 or any of these other mice are poorly shaped/bulky/heavy. G500 is basically the same design as mx518 why would I want that piece of shit?

I want to put the g500 insides into a g3, is that possible?
