These are the most accurate prices to date. As of 9:41pm PST, 3/15/06, the G7 is out of stock on Amazon, but it has been in and out since the rebate went up, so keep checking. You can also try buying from TigerDirect and trying for the rebate that way. Amazon customer service apparently says that'll work, but it hasn't been verified, obviously. Good luck if you try that!

I've read a couple amazon reviews that say this mouse is not that good for gaming. It is not reliable, and the drivers do not allow you to take advantage of the extra buttons in-game. Any experiences here? It seems like a good deal to me

i'm a little disappointed by the one thumb button, too. my old crappy mouse had two, and i had one for grenades and one for crouching. Now i have to manually select nades still, it's WAY more accurate and quicker than my old one

For reference, the G7 rebate lasts until 3/20, so if Amazon gets restocked between now and then, you can snap one up

I called the rebate center and received an identical response. Buying directly from Tiger Direct, invalid rebate.... buying from Tiger.com through Amazon.com, valid rebate. I'm going to make sure to include the Amazon.com confirmation e-mail, just in case.

However, having only a single side button kinda' sucks. But I hear this is the first wireless mouse without any noticeable lag. The only thing really troubling me is battery life... 12-24 hours with heavy gaming, 4-6 days with normal activity... recharges only take a few hours. Again, this information isn't based on personal experience, so I'm not completely sure of its accuracy.

Good luck with the rebates to the brave ones that got in. Logitech is terrible with them - never received mine for my X-530 speakers and my MX-510 mouse. Won't deal with their rebates again...

Just make copies of everything: UPC, receipt, offer information, rebate, e-mail confirmations. And then if you don't receive your check in the specified time + a few extra weeks, include these documents with a brief -- but professionally terse -- letter.

Also include the terms BBB, Federal Trade Commission, and the Attorney General of that particular state -- within the second or third sentence. Make Logitech aware of your intent to forward your information to these particular agencies.

Out of the two times where such actions were necessary (1998/Imation and 2001/Staples) I received my check in 2 weeks after sending such a letter. Good luck.

I have been using a G7 now for a month playing Counter Stike source and HL2.

I have never used multiple thumb buttons so I can't make any comments there.

the unique thing about the G7 is the ability to change sensitivity on the fly which i find handy for different styles of gun battles, namely long distance sniping versus close quarters fighting.

It feels nice. It is right handed only. I like it's weight.

You can also customize 5 different sensitivity settings and more importantly have high sensitivity left right and low sensitivity up and down. therefore your gun sights stay at head level more or less.

after using this mouse for a month I say I really like it.

MY kill ratio and mission success ratio have not improved whatsoever. So this mouse will not save you from sucking.

How comfortable is the mouse. I never really liked the way my hand contorted to the mx510. I'm hoping the G7 works out better in that sense.

fwiw - the application button on the G5/G7 can be used in place of the 2nd thumb button. Uberoptions gives you more button options than the current Logitech Setpoint software - http://www.logigamer.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=142

Dude...they rebate any decrease in price within 30 days. Just search this forum for details.

Edit: Wow! They do ship fast. I ordered mine around 4pm and it says shipped already with a tracking number. I already have a 518, but one of these two will end up on office PC (whichever is worse for gaming).

Yea, I had a similar issue with my 510 rebate.

While I ordered and PAID for my mouse within the rebate time through compusa business B&M, the order shipped out after the rebate period. The %$*&#* tards at Logitech took one look at the packing slip copy, did not bother to read the purchase invoice, and denied the rebate. I phone them to complain and they said fax all the info in and they would mail a check in two weeks. Well, two months later and NOTHING.

I like logitech products... I own two of their speaker systems, headphones, and a mouse. But now they have lost a loyal customer.
GO TO HELL LOGITECH!
