Ya know, I have two MX1000 mice. No need to get a G7 at all, especially since I dislike the lack of extra thumb buttons.

Then this deal came up and it was like I got punched in the face and robbed of my money. I hope that rebate comes through.

AVEROX I had the mx1000 as well but after getting this g7 it is big dif, the mx1000 is way to fast at default and the lack of any changing on fly is not worth it. I really loved that mx1000 too and thought it was the ****** till I got this g7 I even had bought a second mx1000 for my second computer. Now I need to sell that and get another g7 for sure. I never used the second mouse button on the side anyhow so big deal. Only complaint I got compared to the mx1000 is that this mouse if your hand sweats can slip little as its does not have that rubbery feelling like the mx1000. Don't know why they change it to all plastic. Also love the battery on the g7 better then the built in one on the mx1000 I would always forget to put that mouse on charger and then run out and have to wait for it to charge back up. This one you run out and grab the second battery that was charging while you used the other and you never forget to charge it cause you put it right in charger as you take other one out.

The plastic surface and the battery life are two major problems I have with the G7. The packs are a neat ideal but they last around 20-24 hours if you use the mouse alot. Battery life is just horrible compared to the MX1000.

I have many Logitech products, most bought with some form of rebate. I have gotten ALL my rebates, but they do take a long time to send the check.

just to check. Buying it from Amazon with it saying "Shipped from Tigerdirect" is OK on the rebate, right?

in for a G7. I've really been wanting this, and getting it for $19.98 after shipping is an AWSOME deal. Thanks a ton.

I called the 1-866-533-6880 number on the rebate yesterday, and was that told purchasing from TigerDirect through Amazon.com was fine. I also just checked with Fatwallet.com and Slickdeals.net.... most people are reporting that calls to Logitech received positive confirmation, but one or two calls to Amazon.com received negative confirmation.

Although, I remember from past experience where rebates for TigerDirect purchased through Amazon.com were valid.... so.

Anyway, I'd imagine enough people have called by now for them to formulate a more official response. I'm going to call Logitech, once again, just to confirm that answer, and get the CSR's name.

BTW, the G7 is now back in-stock directly from Amazon.com -- for those not wanting to take a chance on Tiger Direct. Although, Amazon also has raised the price by $45 to $99.99, still with free shipping.

Logitech G7 Laser Cordless Mouse from Amazon.com

Oh, I've noticed a pattern in most on-line complaints concerning the G7's battery life. It seems those who either rapid or boost (2hr.) charge their batteries, keep the transponder at a great distance or extremely obstructed, and use their computers intensively experience the greatest decrease and eventual diminishment in battery times.... which makes sense.

I used the g7 and cant stand the gloss finish. The g5 is a better mouse no battery wear, adjustable weight, and a sure rubber like grip.

Ugh...up to $50 and no forward button....I'm torn. My mx700 is more or less dead, and this is tempting, but I actually USE the forward button.

Edit: Plus, newegg has this, shipped for only $15 more than this is after rebate, and you can probably find free shipping for the egg atm, so $10 more. It's gone from hot to warm at best.

Help me with my decision! I have an MX518 (came from MX700). Do I need to upgrade to either of these? And if I do, which? I wish this wasn't such a hot deal - I wouldn't have to make a decision!

Well the g7 comes out to 16 bucks what is the problem. I upgraded from the mx500 to the g5 and it seriously felt like my framerates got faster because of how smoth the mouse was. I also was getting better shots on people.

Other than what I mentioned earliar about the g7 they are identical.
