Logitech G7 Critical Battery Warning

So I just got the Logitech G7 "Gaming" mouse but its got the most annoying "feature" in games. When the battery gets low it will pop up a "Battery is critical" message every so often. While you're in the middle of a battle in a game this pretty much screws you over because it slows the game down to a halt and displays the critical battery messagebox for a few seconds. What was Logitech thinking, considering this is supposed to be a gaming mouse. Does anybody know how to disable this message from popping up?

I dont even use the software that came with the mouse. Plug it in and go, it works fine for me. The only downside to that is the battery just dies in the middle of games with no warning, and you have to quick swap it out before someone shoots you. There is the battery indicator on the mouse, but I never notice it, so I just got used to switching the battery out when it dies.

How do you bind buttons to keystrokes or events for certain games or set the on the fly sensitivity adjustment levels if you don't use the software? Those are some of the nicest features of the mouse. . .
Not saying it isn't possible but I've never bothered trying to use the G7 without the Logitech software. I agree, the low battery warning on screen could've been done better but it really isn't that big of a problem for me. . .So I get shot while I'm changing the battery. . .big deal. . .it's a video game. I still think it's better than having only 1 battery and potentially having to quit playing while I wait for it to recharge. And using the 2 smaller battery packs one at a time instead of 1 big one make the mouse lighter weight.

Well yes, the binding dosent work, but the on the fly sensitivity adjustment works perfect. I think that function is something inside the mouse, rather than software on the computer.

w/o the software, the mouse uses the default dpi settings (400, 800, 2000). the use of software allows you to tweak the dpi settings, so if you're comfortable with the defaults i guess you really don't need it. also, i'm not sure (away from home pc), but i *think* there's an option to turn off the low battery warning.

I believe if you go to the "game settings" then go to the "advance game settings" and uncheck the "enable notification"
you wont get it any more in the game.
I never get any notification of low battery when I am gaming.

Hmm, it was already unchecked. Also, I think that might be for notification of changing DPIs.

EDIT: Here's what the Help file said about it:

"Check the Enable Notification box if you want to enable an audio notification when you change mouse sensitivity while gaming. You can choose the sound played in the Windows® Control Panel."

This is what you get for getting wireless, personaly i have the razer copperhead (really good) but if i dident get that i would have gotten the G5 (same as G7 but wired and doesnt have batteries). Basicaly live learn and get wired.

This is correct. However, in addition to letting you tweak the 3 default settings to the DPI setting of your preference, it allows you to set 5 DPI settings instead of the default 3. You can only do that by using the software.
