Logitech G9X mouse issues!?

Hello group,

I have a Logitech G9X mouse. I have the latest drivers downloaded. The problem I am having is the mouse will cut-out for a few seconds and then I hear a "Ker-Plunk" sound and then it comes back. This happens when I am doing general duties on my computer or gaming. It is most irritating. I reformatted my SSD hard drive and it kept doing it! I bought a new SSD hard drive and it is still doing it.

So WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS THING???

It's possibly a hardware issue. I good way to isolate the issue is to test your Logitech G9X Mouse on a different computer. If the problem persists on the other computer, you can contact Logitech Customer Support (http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1842) for warranty support. The G9x has a three year limited hardware warranty.

It could also be the USB port. Sometimes moving the mouse to a different one can stop the intermittent drop outs. The noise you are hearing from Windows is a driver crash or failure, it likely comes with a message in the tray area as well if that is the case, otherwise the noise is the driver reconnecting.

I always had problems with my G9 cutting out occasionally, it is a known problem with those mice, but I didn't get a driver disconnect, just lost movement for a second or two.

The 'kerplunk' sound is Windows loading a driver; you should probably see a 'device is ready to use' popup if you have notifications on.

If the driver cuts out in-use, I'd say it's the culprit. Before trying to download the drivers again, just remove them entirely, and let Windows handle the driver setup... see if the problem persists. If so, then it is probably a hardware issue.
