logitech harmony owners, u guys go through batteries this quick too?

i owned a 676 and it went through batteries monthly. (heard it wasn't good to use rechargeables on slow draining devices things like remotes, clocks, etc. so i used alkalines.)
because it became so costly, i replaced it with a Harmony One that has a built in chargeable battery/dock.

been using this one for a month and i find that i have to charge it weekly.
this is less of an issue because it's made to recharge, but it does lead me to wonder how crappy these remotes are on battery life.
i imagine the lcd touchscreen on this unit attributes to suckier battery life.

all this deep cycling surely is not good for the battery. good thing it is replaceable and relatively cheap.

Where's the rest of the poll? I just see the "I do not own one" option. Anyway, I have a Harmony One and have to charge it maybe once every two weeks or so. I haven't kept close track of it since the charger makes it easy.

I charge my Harmony One every 7-10 days probably. Not a big deal really, just stick it in the cradle and you're good to go.

i have a 676 i think, and it seems to go through batteries faster now than when i first got it. i use rechargeables though.

Yeah, I'm about the same.

I try to charge it around the 75% battery life left, but sometimes it gets to 50% or lower.

Just drop it in the cradle every few days over night or while you goto work.

I keep my Harmony 880 on the cradle when I'm not using it usually so I really can't tell you how long a charge lasts. Though it's probably not the best thing to do for a lithium battery, it does guarantee the remote is ready to go all the time.

How long do you have your backlight set to?

I have a 550 in my bedroom that I have never changed the batteries on in like 8 months now. I used to have a 676 in my living room that easily lasted 3-4 months.
Now I have a Harmony One and I generally charge it once every 3-4 weeks on average.

If you have an older harmony with only 2 charging points it probably isn't charging properly.

i've noticed shrinking battery life on my 880 over 6 years, but it's still ok.

I own a Harmony 550 for my living room setup. I have owned it for a year and a half and have only had to change the batteries once.

waht's the lowest? 5 seconds? whatever it is, that's what i have it set to.

i notice the lights around the touchscreen (not the touchscreen lcd itself) sometimes stays on.

I toss my Harmony One into the dock every night. It doesn't really take that much effort to walk over and drop it in.

it's not about the effort.
i'm more concerned about killing the battery prematurely by constantly (over)charging it.

I thought you killed Li-Ion batteries prematurely by letting them drain completely? The behavior you're describing is for nimh batteries, I thought?

oh, i dunno.
either way, i let it go down to 25-30% and then i drop it in the cradle.
