Doesn't it need special paper?? That is quite lame. Optical mice can work on any surface, why can't a digital pen?

This is a GREAT idea that never took off. The pen is bulky, like a supersize sharpie, and you do need special paper.

I don't think the paper is special at all, just the line spacing and stuff; could prob print your own. Looks interesting though.

Nice idea but fails from flaws.

First of all the pen is pretty big. Boy I mean pretty big. Second, it requires special paper. I was testing one at work and figured why not try to scan and print the paper so see if you can make your own? Granted the HP LJ 5si prints at 600dpi max, I don't think the end user is going to be making cheaper affordable copies of the paper themselves any time soon.

I considered this when it was around the $140 range and after a while I realized it is actually not that great of a device.

You need to use that special paper, and then between the writing and actually retrieving the info it seems like a pain in the A$$.

I ended up opting for a nice Dell hand held and I am so glad I didn't go with this crappy oversized pen. Not to mention that a PDA can be used for way more.

From someone who almost bought this, do yourself a favor and get a PDA.

PS-The paper IS special. It has a million little dots all over it. Probably hard to reproduce and not worth the hassle....
