Actually the MX1000 is much much better than my old mouse. Now when I play Far Cry, my shooting is so much better without the lag. I used to get a lot of lag with my old mouse. Works better than I actually expected it to!

What's the best blend of acceleration and pointer speed? I'm having a hard time to adjust with this new mouse.

I went ahead and bought this mouse in spite of all the fuss over at 3dgpu just to see for myself (kinda surprising really, after reading 40+ pages of bitching over there). I don't see what the big deal is. It really comes down to playing style I guess.

After a couple of hours in Far Cry and another hour in Enemy Territory, i had no complaints at all. I do keep my sensitivity really high in all games though so picking up the mouse is something that I just don't need to do.

Sorry guys, I have to give this one a big thumbs up....no complaints here. If ya hate it then so be it, but it suits my style just fine. Big improvement over my Logi Optical.

EDIT: Hankysmoo, disable Windows acceleration entirely, it bites. As far as sensitivity goes, start with where it's comfortable and gradually increase the setting over the course of a few weeks or a month. Doing it all at once is hard to cope with. Try it, I think you'll be surprised what it will do for your game.....

In my opinion, if you have to pick up your mouse to recenter it, you're playing at WAY too low of a sensitivity.

just another reason for games to not buy wireless mice. they cost too much and are too much of a headache.

wired mice perform better.

thats best mouse available at the moment is the mx510, nothing comes close.

It is probably like most things.....PERSONAL TASTE....Some love it.....a couple hate it....get over it and start shopping somewhere with no stupid return tax (restocking fees) then you won't be so bitter when you return it....I personally play with very high sensitivity and can do a turn and a half with a flick of my wrist....don't pick up the mouse at all...so works fine

Mine came with 3 lit up, and its been on the charger for about 2 hours now, and its still like that. I read of 4 guage power indicators, but i cant see a space for a 4th LED.

Thanks.

Three green bars means its fully charged, after the last green bars turns red, that means that the battery need to be charged. Red = recharge, 1 green = 25% 2 green = 50%, 3 green =100%

See above. Its already been covered by myself. Its purely Psychological. They perform the same as wired mouses. Fact.

Maybe. Maybe not.
The MX1000 is superior in specs, in shape, and the fact that its wireless technology performs as well as wired, means that its just as good, if not better, in every area.

The very new Razer Diamondback mouse is supposed to be one of the best (for gaming)wired mouse,1600DPI,16bit data path etc....I guess only time will tell .

I've got a MX1000 and I love it. I don't do much gaming so I never really need to lift it off the pad. It is extremely percise however. Some times my MX700 would jump when I moved it in a very small area. I have not had this problem with the MX1000

So if the mouse kept moving the pointer even when lifted how would you ever reposition your mouse? Personally I stay on the computer for long hours and need to reposition often.

If you lift it more than an 1/8 to 1/4 inch it doesn't move. I have no problem repositioning when I need to but I have the resolution set so I don't need much movement.

I tend to believe your take on this mouse...its enough to push me to buy it. Thanks..Ill let you guys know how it goes.

Keep in mind though that I have made due with a Cordless Duo (not elite or MX) for a good year and a half. I play games and everything with no issues, the mouse is just picky about the surface you use it on.

I cannot use a corded mouse or keyboard again after having had this set.

One thing that always bugged me is when I needed to move the mouse in very small incriments it has always been difficult...for example just recently I bought a new 6800 OC video card and while trying to OC it via the slider it would skip from 370-374 with just a nudge..it takes several tries to hit the number you want. And I am a master at using this handicapped mouse.

I hope the MX1000 is a huge leap in performance though..id be disappointed if it was only a little better.

I have big hand and the MX1000 fits nice, the duo mouse (MX300?) is small but at least it only has two buttons on it so I am not hitting buttons by mistake.

Anyone having problems with the mouse rocking on a flat surface like the original poster also said? Mine seems to rock back and forth on flat and hard surfaces.

Also, did anyone have weird cursor problems when running their mouse battery down to 1 green bar? The cursor on mine started acting funny and would pause occasionally and at first I thought it was an interference problem with my monitor but I found out after I charged it to 2 greem bars, the problem seemed to go away?

I am debating if I should exchange for another one because the rocking really annoys me. The mouse cursor thing problem I could live with.

Rix2357,I`ve just got my MX 1000 few hours ago, however it does not rock, you could either exchange it or try some teflon tape over the mouse feet.

The mouse is heavier then what I`m use too,but I`ll see how it feels after a week or so,mine`s still showing 3 green bars so no opinion yet on your cursor problem.

Yeah, the response time stinks with these things...Same thing happens with my bros MX700. I think it's just wireless lag, and I don't know how one would speed that up.

arredondo, just got my MX1000 today,I don`t have the problem like in your video clips,no lag at all even in sleep mode, as soon you touch it moves instantaniously, also no wobble ,the feet are perfect, infact only problem I have is getting use to the weight.

I wonder if Logitech updated the MX1000 from the very earlier models?..If not I wonder if the mouse sensitivity settings have something to do with it,I`ve mine on medium pointer acceleration, and pointer speed set to mid way.

Battery life seems very impressive,so far pretty impressed but still early days .

I am still not very fond of wireless mice. My freind has a MX700 and I hate how heavy it is.

I love mine also... And even tho my mouse does have the same problem this guy is addressing, it has never affected my gaming yet. I guess because I do not pick up my mouse that high off the mat while I'm playing a game. I don't know anyone who will pick there mouse up that high when playing a game. So mine works flawlessly in my opinion because if this guy would have never pointed that issue out to us with that video, I woulda never knew that my mouse had that problem.

Well, I fixed the wobbly mouse problem by using a razor and gently removed the teflon? feet. Then I sort of put it in the wrong place by placing part of the feet on the raised edge near the feet. I had to do it to two of the feet. That was how bad the mouse would rock.

As far as the lag goes, yeah I can reproduce what is in the video. In fact I can do even worse by doing it on a cloth surface. I think part of why the U test makes it look so bad is that the mouse is moved left and right really really quickly, to the point that the mouse is moving across the surface just way too fast for anything to track. I know for ball mice, if you jerk and move the mouse extremely fast, the cursor will even go the opposite of the direction that you want it to move. The easiest way to reproduce what I am talking about would be to take out the ball and then use your finger to flick the roller that the ball touches inside. If your eyes are quick enough, you'll see the cursor accelerate in the right direction, then shoot off in the opposite direction. Then as the roller slowly comes to a halt, the cursor will again come to a speed where the cursor again goes in the right direction. Anyway, back to why the U test makes the mouse look so bad...I believe the U test does show some delay, but at the same time part of that is because the mouse is moving across a surface way too fast. You might ask, well if it is just a simple thing of the mouse moving too fast across the surface, then I should be able to reproduce the results in the video by just flicking the mouse in one direction really fast but keeping it on the surface. This doesn't work because the laser kicks in long before you can accelerate the mouse fast enough.

I guess my point is, that I see that there maybe a lag, but I don't think it is going to bother me that much. What actually bothers me more is the rickety scroll wheel. It just doesn't feel tight enough. The main improvement I got from this mouse over my old mx700 is the weight and the charging base. It is a little lighter than my old mx700 and they fixed the contacts so that I don't have to fiddle with the mouse in its cradle so I could get the mouse to charge up.

Man why would you hack up a faulty mouse like that instead of returning it for a new one? It was obviously defective.....oh well, I guess if it works better now then whatever.

The 1000 is the first time I've given a cordless a chance. No probs in gaming at all. One benefit I found is that if I'm layin on my bed watching a movie, I can use the mouse right on the quilt to run the DVD controls. That alone makes me very happy (hey I can be lazy if I wanna....) I've only had it about a week but so far, I haven't found any gripes with it at all.

Money well spent.
