Great mouse. I have the corded mx300 at home, and the mx700 at work......mouse software isn't really necessary, but I like customizing my buttons....works with WinXP Pro and Win2k Pro just fine.

i believe the only difference between the two is that one has a cord, one doesnt

Actually, you might be thinking of the MX500. The MX300 has fewer buttons, and is ambidextrous. The MX500 and MX700 are basically right-hander only models. Still, I hear the MX300 tracks very well, and is great if you don't really want/need 8 buttons on your mouse.

Yeah.... I had my IT dept. pickup a bunch of the MX300's for the office.

They track great, don't requrie software, and are cheap. 99% of people in the office wouldn't even use the extra buttons....heck, most don't know what the "windows" key is or the "show desktop" icon on their computer does....

I called bestbuy.com and they said the rebate is in store only, not available for web site purchases.
Too bad they have free shipping right now.

I just picked one up. The rebate prints out at the register, says in store only and is for $13.00.

So price is $29.99 - $2.00 instant rebate = $27.99 + tax - $13.00 mail in rebate
So $14.99 + tax.
