I had the MX518 in my shopping cart on Amazon since September (work got in the way) and the price would go up to 42, down to 39, up to 41, down to 39. And then yesterday I saw it dropped to $32 and went ahead and bought the damn thing.

This mouse still has several things going for it such as two side buttons, lack of tilt wheel (makes mouse-wheel clicking a pain, for me at least) and the price! Just because something "better" came out, does not take away any features this mouse had before the "laser mice" came into the picture.

I've found that even what with that they claim - wireless you're going to see a difference in performance with gaming. It just happens, sorry. I'm judging this off of using an mx 700

I got one of the 518's when NE had them for 31.88 + .99 shipping and really like it. A buddy of mine wants the Copperhead for Christmas and I can't seem to find any deals on that at all. At 1600 dpi, mine is so sensitive I don't know what I'd do with 2000.

I tried the G5 for awhile (wired counterpart to the G7). Didn't like how big the wheel was compared to my mx510 which was being RMAed. The adjustable dpi and weight were nice features but not really "needed". Logitech replaced my mx510 with an mx518 and I like it more than the G5 I used...just my 2 cents.
