This seems to be loved so much by AT members. I bought into all the hype of this being a top notch cordless mouse.. Maybe it is.. but it's sure not even close to being comparable with even the worst corded mice...

It lags soo much... like when I move it to a point, and i stop there, it would always go past.. I try my other Logitech optical scroll mouse, and it stops right when I stop the mouse on the point.
It really sucks for games...
I thought everyone said this mouse was so great and it was great for games, the mouse to have... guess not..
I used panasonic recharagble batteries that I had, and they are fully charged... I keep the base 5" from the mouse... it lags even when it's right next to the base..

Is what I'm experiencing normal?

No, that is not normal. I'm using one right now, and I have never had any kind of mouse lag.

Did you let the mouse charge overnight before you first used it?

it was a fully charged battery... I checked the control panel, and it says it's fully charged.

make sure the base/mouse is/are not right close to anything electrical (ex. your monitor) this could interfere with the signals

by the way, I have this mouse and it rocks.

Since my aim is too fast for the mouse it shows lag

OK I just disabled mouse acceleration.. and it seems to be better now...
but my main concern is the lack of precision... HERE'S WHAT I MEAN
I tried to draw a straight line with my corded and cordless mouse.. and the MX700 mouse kept jittering up and down... and no it's not my hand or the same thing would happen to the corded one..

Step 1: Return it to the store.
Step 2: Buy the worst corded mouse, which is far superior to this mouse, by your standards.
Step 3: Pocket the difference.
Step 4: Shut the fvck up.

All of us realize that it's a terrible, horrible mouse that can barely be used for basic computing, but we love it anyways. But none of us make idiotic posts totally slamming a globally acclaimed product, then saying... "Right?"

Step 5: Die.

One make sure the base is not too far away, and also make sure it's not too close, I believe Logitech reccomends it be at least a foot away from the mouse in order to keep lag down...but using this mouse for about 8 months I have never had an issue with it...best mouse I have ever owned...

You can't see that his post was ridiculous and angry? If he would have come in, like a nice, polite person, and asked "Why do you suppose my MX700 isn't responding very quickly? How can I fix it?" I wouldn't have flamed him. It's his own fault.

ive read, re read, re re read his original post, and i dont see a hint of him trying to stir the pot. of course he's angry, but he asked whether his mouse is normal or not. i also read his 2 following posts, and i dont see him as being impolite.
you should be banned for life

Meh, looks like he wasn't so offensive after all. Still, he should have given up immediately... that's what anandtech is all about.

You have gotta be kidding man. this mouse works like the bomb man.. its great. i have never had problems with this mouse. it does exactly whats it intends to do.

it might have the little bit of lag after not being used for an extended preiod of time but thats about the only thing u can complain about..if that.

I've NEVER had lag with this mouse... it sounds like you have something wrong with the driver or incompatible hardware. Trust me no one aims faster than me in Unreal or CS so I don't think you "aim" too fast

when you go out and buy a product highly recommend by others, there is obviously a lot of expectation from the product and when you don't see it perform the way you think it would, a lil frustration and resentment is understandable. So try and add value to the forum rather than flaming others for the sake of flaming.

Hey i usually just lurk around the hd and fs forum but i thought i would come out of hiding for this..

I had this problem too and i was met with the exact same cookie cutter answers e.g. get newest drivers, move base station away, make sure the stars are properly aligned or the base station will pick up interference, etc etc. i totally understand how you are feeling, and since i paid $80+ for a keyboard and mouse combo and i was very frustrated by the jumpy mouse problem.

With that said, can you let us know what type of surface you are using the mouse on? When mine was not working properly, i was using it right on the table top which is a wood grain pattern, and on my other tabletop which is a stucco type pattern. It would jump all over the place, just like your straight line picture.

I found that if i used a piece of paper as my mouse pad it would work absolutely perfectly, with no jumpiness. I have not tried using a mouse pad as i havent used one in years, but i assume it would work as well. I cannot say with certainty that i have found the problem, but i am thinking that it has something to do with the optical sensor misreading hte patterns on my desktop. Regardless, I am STILL getting jumpiness when i use the mouse on my desktop, and i am STILL getting perfect accuracy when i use a piece of paper i taped to my desktop as a mouse pad.

I dont know what to say about the lag... i bought the cordless mx duo and i THINK the mouse lags ever so slightly... but oh god the keyboard lags like crazy. The dispay is barely keeping up with what i am typing and it gets kind of annoying.

Anyways, I hope this helps with your mouse issues!

Yeah, chances are it's your mousing surface. Invest in a RatPadz GS.

Btw, this is the first time I completely agree with Nebor. The MX700 has been established as being the best mouse out there. Sorry, but the title is where he's bashing the famous MX700. How about the title saying "I SUCKS AT USING A MOUSE!!!!!!!11!1!1!"

Hmmm aparently you missed the most obvious part the subject line
of course he's angry, but he asked whether his mouse is normal or not.
Yes he did ask a valid question, but he started out by slamming something he obviously doesn't fully understand (or he wouldn't have any question(s) ... would he?)
you should be banned for life
Ya lots and lots of questions would get answered around here if every person that disagreed with some little puke was banned....good plan
so are you gonna flame on me too sweetie?
Sure I've had a bad enough day to argue with a 12yr old/script kiddie/l33t hax00r/whatever.......

Edit: Ya I know I'm sounding crusty but it p!sses me off when ppl come along asking for assistance while being obviously and/or needlessly rude.
