looks like a good deal - it's amazing how quickly things go from top of the line to refurbed clearance deals.

what would great range be? across the room, or the desk? Maybe a usb extension would be my best bet.

Snagged one. My Logitech Mouseman bit the dust after many good years, I needed a new mouse badly. Been stuck with my ancient Logitech wheel mouse.

I'm thinking of grabbing one of these so that I can leave one in the cradle charging at all times.

Has anyone used 2 mx700's with a single cradle and was there any interference or anything?

I just tested mine, and at an estimated half battery power it still seems to function at 9ft... at around 10-12 it starts losing signal.

So, the range is decent, but not exceptional.

I have an old Intel rf mouse that I can use at around 30 feet, but the batteries get chewed up very quickly unless I unplug the receiver when not using it. The MX-700 has nice battery life, and gives you plenty of warning when it needs to be recharged.

forgot to include quote:
> how far is the range on these mice? Im looking for a mouse for my htpc

not far at all ~6 feet in my experience. my bed is about 8 feet away from the cradle and i can't use it on it. for range, try the Intellimouse Explorer. i got good range on that ~18 feet.

You can do this, however you'll have to hit the connect buttons on the mouse and charger every time you switch between them. But you can use a connected mouse and charge a different one at the same time.

And, as I just said, when you switch to the one that was just charging and put the other one on the charger, you'll need to hit the two connect buttons again.

My co-worker has the same mouse, so we tried it out for ya

No, it's just that I don't like to change to a wired mouse everytime my mx700 dies.
I didn't know you could use rechargeables in the MX700. Is it hard to take apart and stuff cuz I'll just order some dub A's and save some money.

Thanks for the info. I now have a couple of options and at $29 or less it's all good.

Cool deal.

I have been waiting for an opportunity like this to test out a wireless mouse. Now I have my chance.

Thanks,

I ordered the Logitech Z-5300's from them today. Renewed also.
I took a chance and got them. If I have a problem, they are in Malden, MA and I'm in Boston 3 out of 4 weeks a month. I can go there and complain in person if they don't answer the phone.

I have an MX700 and an MX510.

I'd recommend the MX700 to people doing primarily basic browsing, etc. but I would HIGHLY recommend getting an MX510 instead if you're a gamer. The MX700 has some slight lag to it, regardless of what some are trying to convince themselves of, and it is not a good option if you play FPS games or anything else requiring absolute speed and precision.

There is a startup and a change of direction delay, while the MX510 is near flawless. It's far more accurate and fast than any ball mouse I've ever used, and it's the best mouse I've ever seen. And I've gone through a damn lot of mice

Nope, it sucks for gaming, IMHO. I bought one and my frag rate took a serious hit in America's Army. I went back to my MicrsoSUX IE mouse in days. IF you want a good gmaing mouse go the MX510 route.

It's actually GREAT for gaming IMHO and I'm not alone. If you look through the forums you will see MOST people recommending this mouse for gaming!
