Logitech MX700

I just got my MX700 today and have been messing around with it. I went to the logitech webisite and installed the latest drivers. I've been using it for about an hour now and it seems that the mouse is not accurate at all. I dunno if its lag or if I just dont have the right drivers but my Intellimouse 3.0 was much smoother. Is there anything wrong with the mouse or is it just me? I've seen so many good reviews for this mouse but i have yet to be able to use it sucessfullly in games or while just in windows. Any help appreciated thank you

memize, I had some tracking issues w/ a 3M "optical" mouse pad, I changed to a regular cloth mouse-pad and it tracks fine

You might want to try the Microsoft Performance MousePad. We just got some at work and they are designed for optical mice. I'm liking mine so far... very smooth.

Is your base station (the part that transmits to the mouse) in a good position and away from interference? I've used my MX700 on a Ratpadz and Func 1030 pad and it's worked fine.

My reciever is pretty damn close to a Klipsch speaker and my LCD. Still works great. I have no mousing surface either, just desk.

I'm having the same issue... just got a MX700 today. I think it's the 3M pad that's messing it up. The old MS optical needed the pad, this one seems to not.

I just received my combo today along with the ratzpad gs.....works like a champ. no accuracy problems, glides like its on ice (added "skates" to it). haven't had it long enough to notice a problem with the batteries. Now I just have to get a bigger monitor so I can see the screen from across the room

Seeing that you just got it, did you let it charge? Otherwise it should work perfect on a fUnc mousepad (I have one). I do not use the logitech drivers though. I use intellipoint with my mx700. Anyhow, main point is that whatever is happening to you isn't the norm so goodluck troubleshooting.

THat is a big mistake, always use Logitech drivers with the newer mice like MX510 or MX700 or 1000, otherwise you cant utilize the great speed of the mouse. You can change the settings to your liking, and if your a gamer you'll truely love that.

I use my MX700 on plain desk with the receiver about 20cms away, just in front of my LCD. I have not really had any problems at all, inaccuracy and lag is always caused my inability to communicate with the base station.
