Hey,

Is the logitech optical mouse's blue LED supposed to turn off when the computer is off? As cool as it is, it is kinda annoying when I'm trying to sleep

Is the mouse on an externally powered USB hub? Try it on a bus powered hub -- If it isn't getting any power, it can't turn on the LED. (But I don't know much about USB -- It's possible that bus powered devices do get a little power even when the computer is "off.&quot

I got rid of the annoying blue led permantly. I basically opened the mouse, and put some electrical tape over the blue led. Problem solved

Changing the LED colour should not prove to be "TOO" much of a problem if you are confident with electronics and have a steady hand with the solder iron and have a suitable sized L.E.D to fit in there...

With those things it would not be such a problem But personally the Logitech is Bluw in colour and cover anyway, so a matching LED won't hurt will it?! What colour you planning on changeing it to?!

Albert.

The Logitech USB optical mouseman blue light will go off(mine does)if it`s connected to a PC & you turn your PC off,the light on the mouse will only stay on if it`s connected to a USB hub with it`s own external power supply that`s supplying power to the Logitech optical mouse.

Some PCs USB ports don't power down when the ATX powers off. This is probably why your mouse is still on when the comp is shut down. I personally shut my comp off at the surge protector after shutting down. A friend of mine has a microsoft intellimouse optical USB, and it stays on until he shuts off his surge protector(meaning it stays on after he shuts down his comp). The PS/2 version doesn't do this. My conclusion is that some mobos don't cut power to the USB ports when shutdown.

Why would you change the blue LED or cover it up? That's one of the reasons why I bought mine.

Hmm, well, I have the mouse connected to the PS2 port via the PS2 converter. Maybe I'll try plugging in to the USB port. Basically, I replaced my older Mouseman with the Optical Mouseman and didn't bother installing new drivers (call it a case of laziness). And yes, I'm sure the computer is off. Hmm, now that I think about it, I have had problems with one of my keyboard lights staying on with the power off. Must be my Abit MB...

My logitech optical turns off when I shut off the computer. It has a red light though. How did you guys get blue lights? I have a wheelman or mouseman optical I think.
