Logitech Performance MX ---> G700 question.

My performance MX mouse is flaky so I bought a G700. I noticed the G700 charges via USB only. The Performance MX had the usb cable that plugged into an AC power supply. The end that goes into each mouse is the same. Do you think it would hurt if I just continue to use the AC power supply to charge the G700?

Also, maybe a redundant question but the Performance MX has one of those "unifying" usb receivers. It doesn't appear the the G700 does. Why on earth would logitech not continue to use these? Its not a big deal but now I have to unplug the unifying receiver and if I ever get another device that utilizes it then I have to go digging for it.

Also, I am having other issues. According to Logitech you have to actually downgrade set point software to an older version for the G700.

Even after uninstalling the newest version and installing the older version the G700 is not recognized in set point. The mouse works with what I assume is a generic driver but there's no way to configure all the extra buttons, which is why I bought it.
Setpoint still recognizes my Mx1000 perfectly fine.

It's been awhile since I've used a G700, but why the hell would you want to charge it with a cable when the mouse takes standard AA batteries? A simple Energizer rechargeable kit with 4 AA batteries and a recharger means you NEVER have to plug the G700 in, just swap in fresh rechargeables, and recharge the drained ones to be ready when the new batteries die.

That alone; using standard AA batteries over a proprietary battery pack was a major reason I bought my G700 in the first place... there simply isn't a rechargeable mouse out there that can last a full day of heavy gaming, and plugging in a wireless mouse defeats the purpose of having one.

The MX uses one battery, while the G700 uses two, so I wouldn't use that AC cable from the MX to charge the G700 unless you get a Logitech representative to say that is okay.

I was under the impression the G700's receiver was 'unifying', but never tried to run anything else wireless with it. Have you tried running something else with the G700's receiver plugged in, or are you just wondering if it will work?

No issues with Setpoint for me, but that was around six months ago.

Yeah, I've thought about using my other eneloops to swap out. Might do that one day but honestly, connecting the mouse up to a cable is much easier and more convenient to me.

Unless your G700 is much different then mine, it uses one battery also. And the receiver definitely is not unifying.
And Logitech is supposedly adding the G700 to LGS in an upcoming release so it has been removed from the latest version of setpoint.

I've got it mostly figured out for now.

I use my USB wall charger from my phone with my G700 without issue.
