This is kind of a strange way to get a hot deal and it may be YMMV. I called up Logitech to get my RMA status for my Z-560's (What a nightmare). The lady said there was a special on the Logitech Forcefeedback joystick. I said no at first, but since I was on the internet while I was on the phone with her I decided to check out what the joystick costs normally. Apparently the cheapest I found on pricewatch was about 55. Most places however had it in the 80 dollar range. The 800 number I called for RMA was 1-800-231-7717..... so I thought maybe if you just called up and asked about their special they just might hook you up. Shipping was 5 dollars.

Just curious, when do you use a joystick except playing flight similation games? I don't play flight similation games at all...

BF1942

But you're better off without FF in that game anyway... Fry's has the Logitech twist handle stick for 30 bux while if my memory serves me right Walmart has it for $28.88.

Aah! I just bought one for $26(Shipped) off ebay, but it was factory recertified .
As long as the one Logitech is saleing is new in retail box, this is a good deal.

FF is bad in BF1942?

FF makes aiming harder... who cares bout "realism" in BF1942 when you don't even have working instruments to start with.

<anti-flame>This is my personal preference, but I do believe that I'm not alone on this one.</anti-flame>

Plus I need my precious desk space

No my friend.

Bought one yesterday and it's USB version.

Strike Force 3D is the better (and larger) one than Force 3D ... (Because I own both)

Cheers.

Still, I'm trying to find a catch. Having the Strike Force 3d for less then the lower ended Force 3d, doesn't add up, both being retail.
I guess it's just a good deal .

I know alot of people prefer not to have FF in certain games, some don't like it in any games, but from what I've read, this is highly configurable, from more subtle to violent, and completely off (Though not as good as a non-FF stick using springs, the motors aren't as smooth).

I have the original Original Wingman Extreme Force as well, it's too big and lack of the 'twist', other than these, it's a pretty good joystick.

I don't get it? If the Lower end WingMan Force 3D Joystick with smaller motors and USB is $49 at Microcenter. Then how is the Top of the line WingMan Force 3D with the bigger motors and scroll wheel only $29??? It does say "Gameport Version" Although I thought that Logitech included a converter for all of their joysticks so you could use it on gameport or USB. At lease my Logitech® Extreme? Digital 3D has the converter.

UPDATE:

The deal at Microcenter is Sweet! This is Logitech's Top of the Line stick that retails for $89 and is currently selling for $71 at buy.com. I called Logitech and was told that they are reducing the price on this stick because they over-estimated their production run and have mucho stock in house. They gave the best deal to Microcenter at $29 for this baby. If you read the reviews on the Wing Strike Force 3D USB, it is by far one of the best sticks available. I already own the Logitech Extreme Digital 3D without FF and it has other brand sticks for breakfast. I have been Flight-Simming for many years and know my sticks. I just ordered my new addition - Wing Strike Force 3d USB from Microcenter!

A BIG THANKS to fengpc for the linky!

Just a side note. If you notice the older versions of Logitech's 3D sticks had a blue plastic hat switch which alot of users complained about. Logitech took the advice of many owners and modified their sticks with the New tactile feel rubber hat switch. It's good to see a company actually taking user's suggestions and making their products better!

Hat's off to Logitech! (Pun Intended)

pmark,

I own the WingMan Extreme Digital 3D and it is a GREAT stick but it has no force feedback. The Wingman Strike Force 3D USBhas force feedback as well as a neat thumbwheel that you can use for lots of cool stuff in sims. One other addition is a second hat switch next to the primary one. The one thing I really like is the throttle control, you use your thumb to slide it. A Very intuitive design!

All in all this stick ROCKS!
