Man, they still haven't shipped mine. I ordered nov. 22 and got a ship date around nov. 27. When it got to that ship date it got bumped to 'back ordered' and gave me a new ship date around dec. 25th even though it still says usually ships within 24 hours. When I contacted them about it, they bumped my ship date back up to 12/5. Now that that date passed, the shipping estimate date got changed to 12/7. So let's get this straight...you ordered a week after me, and you got it over a week before me?

I ordered them yesterday, with estimate arrival on Dec. 19th, yet it's currently on it's way from Mesquite, TX to Vernon, CA. Knowing UPS, it'll only take until Wednesday to get to the sorting center in Vernon, and will be on the truck for arrival on Friday.

Anyway, thanks OP! =)

I loved my ACS48's! Unfortunately, I got the 5.1 bug... sold them, then went back to 2.1 since 5.1 was pretty useless for me. The only problem it would have had was its color.. white gets dirty fast... white cloth grills even faster.

These speakers really rock and I'm using them right now. I dont have the space for a 7.1 system, and these speakers are great for listening to almost any type of music. I never need to turn them up more than 25% in daily listening....the external remote has a nice big knob to adjust the sound and a smaller one for for the bass adjustment. The speakers and sub is smaller than the previous z-2200!

Just got mine today, and they pound. The bass is nice, but the sound coming from the two main speakers doesn't really sound crisp (I don't know how to describe it)

stormbv I know what you mean. These lack just a tiny bit of mid or hi tones. I'm not sure which as I am not an audiophile, but I can detect it. I think it has to do with the use of a phase-plug driver vs a normal speaker's tweeter. Somebody will correct me if i'm wrong.

That said, they still sound excellent. Can't beat the bass for great musical depth, even when it is turned all the way down. And as already mentioned, at high volumes (extremely high volumes) there is no distortion.

Incidentally, i will repeat this again: with these speakers you can get a MUCH better sound by using Winamp + the Sound Solution DSP. Configure Sound Solution to the setting "BRIGHT AND DENSE". My only caveat is that Sound Solution takes a punch at the CPU cycles, so this is for reasonably fast systems only (mine is a 1.3GHz, and it slows down multi-tasking, but it is worth it).

I received mine and they sound pretty good (I went to CC prior to ordering and listened to them...liked them better than all the other 2.1 systems there including Bose). These have no hum at all (which I had been concerned about based on a few reviews and what I was trying to get rid of with my old Altecs), and way more bass than you'll ever need. I usually end up listening to Internet radio (these speakers make it actually sound pretty good), but definatley lacking some mid-range. All in all a great set for only $55.50 ($60 - $4.50 5% Discover cashback on $90).

Damathon - Yeah, that's confusing. I ordered mine on Nov 26th and they had a ship date of Dec 6th. I emailed Amazon and asked why that was, since it says "Usually ships within 24hrs". Got a lengthy response about how that doesn't apply if you select Super Saver shipping, even if it's the only item in the order. They were kind enough to bump my shipping up to standard ground for free and it arrived on Dec 1. I just looked at my Discover statement and realized they charged me $25.50 for that "free" shipping upgrade. Looks like I have an email to draft...

Wedge1 - Soundsolution definatley did improve the sound quality, but unfortunatley slows down my old 1GH AMD laptop I use these speakers with way too much...might try the "CPU Lite" version I saw on the site...

Hey looking to jump on this but I wanted to first figure out the rebate. I never got a rebate from an online item so what how do i encorporate the reciept? Just a computer print out? Thanks in advanced.

Yes, computer printout will work as long as the rebate requires a "copy of the original receipt" and not "the original receipt", in which case you must submit the invoice you might have received when the package arrived. In the latter case, be sure to make a personal copy to keep on file before sending it off in the mail.

Dang promo's... Decided to order this set of speakers and also signed up for the Amazon credit card for the instant $30 off qualifying purchase. So in the end, hopefully, it'll be $89.99 - 30 (amazon promo) -30 (rebate) = $29.99 for the speakers. Just too difficult to pass up. Thanks OP.

Are these the updated versions of my Z-2200? If so they should be great. My Z-2200s are still pounding and they sound pretty good for PC speakers.

I am not sure. I've never listened to the 2.1 Promedia's by Klipsch.

Would you guys recommend these over the 5300e's (which are 5.1)? just trying to figure out if I'd get more bang out of my buck if I go with a 5.1 system.

I think it basically comes down to if you want surround sound or not.

If you're doing a lot of gaming/movies with speakers, you're probably going to want to do a 5.1 set.
For music and other 2-channel sources, go with a 2.1 set.

Also, I'd only get a 5.1 set if you can do a decent job setting them up so they're not all in front of you like some people do.

For the price and performance, you would me much better off with a set of these. If you are serious about your audio then save up for something else. The Klipsch have their brand going for them, but really aren't any better than these Logitechs.
