Well I went ahead and sprung for the new Logitech Z5500s.. $399.00
I must say.. they did a great job this time..
these speakers sound way better than my Klipsch did before the amp blew up..
Bass when you really need it or dont.. 10 inch 188 watt sub now replaces the 8.
Its set so it can be tuned all the way out independantly from all other channels so its there when you want it and not when you dont..
for Movies crank it up.. the sats more than balance it out with great highs and mids also.
for Doom3 in 5.1 mode... yikes insane....
Star Wars DVD Jedi.. Endor Ewok battle holy crap.. way more convincing than my Klipschs..
Klipsch's sounded like a tin can compared to this in DTS...
Anyway I tried the same apps and Music that I used to play on my Klipsch's and they seem to sound better to my ear. from Classical music peices to Games to movies to techno...
these speakers were worth paying the 399 for over another set of Promedias at 350...
give them a try!
