Well I bought these to replace my aging Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Theatre 5.1 (DTT2500 Digital) speaker setup. I hope that these are as good as I have heard that they are and at least marginally better than what I have now. I also hope that I get the new revision so I don't have to endure that speaker hiss thing. *crosses fingers*

I got these 6 weeks ago and the center channel hisses. It's hardly audible over the whiring of my computer fans, but it's there. I guess I didn't get the revised ones.

The delayed thing means nothing, cuz they'll say it's BOed forever, then BAM, it'll show up on your doorstep. I ordered an 10 GB iPod on 4/2 cuz it was only $320/shipped with a good coupon stack. Immediately it said it'd ship ON OR BEFORE 5/16 - I received it last Friday, 4/18, a mere 16 days later. Both times, I signed up to be e-mailed when it shipped and both times, NO E-MAILS WERE SENT.

I'd love to get in in the Logitech Z-680 deal from Dell. I found a NEW coupon for $45 off $300 in S&P which will sweeten the deal even more...Plus free shipping.

-- I have done multiple searches for the z-680 speakers on Dell's site and came up with nothing...

Any other places to get them for a great deal? I know Amazon has them for $270 with free shipping and no sales tax...

Also I am replacing my Altec Lansing ADA 995 speakers which are pretty good but I want the remote and more power...

I bought one of these z680 at BB before, and I returned it a few days later. There was a lot of hissing even though there's no sound thru the speakers. The sound quality is not even clear..i wonder why this was thx certified, it doesn't even meet up to their standards. I truly believe that logitech wants to only boost their sound loud, but they're missing the sound quality part- that's a shame.

The newer revision doesn't hiss. I had the older version and yeah, it sounded terrible. The new ones kick @ss...

You obviously got a bad set. These speakers are receiving top reviews everywhere -- and those reviews are based on "the sound quality part." Given that they are so highly rated, I'm surprised you didn't exchange them.

Ive been waiting for my replacements for my 560s for months, they recalled them in january and they got stock back in last week. So any 560s before last week are defective?

Just received my Z680's from this deal from Dell....... and they must be the old ones. The center channel has an audible hiss to it and it's extremely annoying. I contacted Logitech and I will return these to Dell if I don't get this resolved from either Logitech or Dell.

Other than that, these speakers rock and are much bigger than I expected, especially the subwoofer.

Did anyone receive the Z680 recently? Is it 500W or 450W?
The box said 450W, so should the new 500W version said 500W on box?

I received mine today which was ordered on 4/29 and the web site specifically specified it's 500W
(the order I placed 4/22 didn't mention the power, they had updated the web sometime before 4/29, I cancelled that order and placeed a new order for this 500W one)

BTW, I didn't hear any hissing sound.

I got mine from Dell on 4/28 and they say 450W on the box. I got the old ones too, and they hiss.

I got the answer from logitech web site.
there is no hardware change in 450w or 500w version, they only changed the speaker power rating method

I check it again with the situation they mention, yes there is a slight hissing sound if I put my ear close to the speakers (not only the center one, though center is loader). It happens to all those my computer speakers (e.g. altec lansing) without auto shutoff functions.

i just bought one at www.mwave.com.

Mwave website sucks... but when i drove 20 miles to pick it up... They're building looked really nice.

They have the whole building to themselves and have 4 ppl out in the counter handling only the will call customers.

It was a fast and nice service.

And the Speaker was for $229 + tax and $5 handling fee... so for around $250, i think it's a no hassel bargain...
