FYI, they are back in stock as of this afternoon at justdeals. I think I will wait for you guys' to get yours before I take the pluge though, their 4.something reseller rating makes me a little hesitant.

This is a message that I wrote at FatWallet earlier today. I guess it wouldn't hurt to share it here as well (for those who ordered from other companies such as JustDeals.com and NewEgg.com).

I called The Express Group at 1-800-741-1365 earlier today, and the (very nice) customer representative told me that the rebate will work. But because she didn't want to make any false promises, she asked me for my complete information (name, address, e-mail address, and where I'm buying the speakers from), so that this way, the rebate will definitely work. She then gave me a different address to send the rebate to (it's to Walledlake, Michigan and not Pirtleville, Arizona), as well as a reference number. She said that this way, the rebate will also be processed faster.

I suggest everyone who placed an order at JustDeals.com for these spakers to call The Express Group soon to ask them if the rebate will work. I will go through this entire thread later on tonight to PM everyone who has said they placed an order (I'm too busy right now to PM people at the moment).

Well, I got my speakers today and all I can say is that they are awesome! I got them for my Powerbook and the sound is absolutely amazing! My rebate is ready to go and will be going out tomorrow. For $62 AR, these are a steal!

getting a set even though I already have a pair of the EV SonicXS speakers that went for like $30 at compusa awhile back (30x2watt satellites, 60watt sub rms). I thought that bass was booming, can't wait to hear the logitechs.

So I want a THX certified 2.1 speaker system, which would you recommend?

1.) Logitech Z2200
2.) Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
3.) Creative Labs Megaworks 250D

Right now I'm leaning mostly toward Klipsch, but I'd like to save some cash. This will be an apartment setup with downstairs neighbors, mostly for watching movies, some gaming, and blasting the occasional pre-party music, ideally I want a system with good satellites without too much being sent to the sub (in consideration of the neighbors.)

Basically I'm no audiophile, but I have rather specific needs (see above), are the Klipsch speakers really much better to warrant the extra cash? Your input is much appreciated, and my apologies for the OT post, but this deal is really prompting me to get these speakers.

For gaming and movies, a 4.1+ surround setup is probably preferable. For music, any of those 3 you listed would be great. If you are set on a 2.1 setup, I would jump on this deal, as even the Z2200s at Amazon would be ~$80-100 cheaper than the other 2.

why would you even consider others even there is a $50 rebate on logitech. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

True, very true. the Z2200's seem really nice, but mail in rebates are kind of annoying IMO. As far as performance is concerned, the only factor backing me off the Logitech speakers is some accounts of the subwoofer being very overpowering, which is no big deal knowing that I can control the sub volume independently. This might result in some loss in mid and low range bass, thoughts anyone?

If you dont care about price at all, klipsch might be a little better. But I wouldnt know since I dont own either. I was just looking at the specs and brand name. klipsch can go as low as 31hz (35hz for logitech), also klipsch is a well-established speaker brand. I have a klipsch 12" sub in my home theater (see my sig). but logitech is such a good deal, so I got it.

Go with these, mine are built incredibly well and the sound is amazing! Definitely high quality, I know I was impressed.

I'm so very tempted to jump on this deal, but I have a question first:

I currently have the 2-channel L/R coming out of my SB Live! 5.1 going to a regular stereo receiver/amplifier. If I add the z-2200s, could I use them as my fronts, my stereo as the rears, and have a 4.1 setup?

Update: Got an e-mail from justdeals and they said the rebate will work on the retail set they sell, but they will be out of stock for a while. ETA for next shipment is 2-4 weeks. The rebate is good 'til the end of October, but if you don't want to wait there is always Amazon.

did you order a set, and they said it wouldn't ship for 2-4 weeks? I ordered one yesterday afternoon, I'm at least hoping they send it out today or tomorrow
