I'm really into audio and I must say though these things are far from perfect, but for the price these things are a complete steal! This is the most excited that I've been about any hardware purchase yet and I've gotten some great deals off of this site.
Minor quibbles..
Bass could be a bit tighter, but what pc speaker sub isn't tight enough these days. That's the problem that I had with the Klipsche PM's or Labtec Pulses; plenty of bass, but not very tight.
The sats have good off axis response, but I wish that they had adjustable stands for positioning.
Why exactly did Logitech put 5 way binding posts on the sats and not on the sub? I was excited when I saw the sats with the 5 ways binding posts thinking that I could put some nice speakers wires on these things with spade terminations, but was totally disapointed when I saw that the sub had cheapie spring clips. A case of style over substance because it's clear that Logitech thought that you'd see the sats and not the sub because it would probably be tucked under a desk somewhere. The binding posts are just for show unfortunately.
I could've done without the cheesy silver painted driver surround to mimic an aluminum frame, especially on the sub.
It's totally apparent to me that Logitech took what they wanted from Labtec when they bought the company. The subs between these speakers and the Labtec Pulse's (Logitech's sub is quite a bit bigger though) are very similar.
After hearing the Klipsche Pro Media's, I would say that these things are at least as good or better for a fraction of the price.
Excellent bargain!
