I've had my eyes on these speakers, and I've been loosely tracking prices in B&M stores and online... the best deal on them is to be found at: Buy.com.

Does anyone speculate prices will fall after the Christmas Season?
Any seasoned shoppers and AT'ers want to give a awesome dude some good advice on how long to wait, and when to buy?

Buy.com has a 3 day pricematch policy, so if they (or a list of approved competitors they publish) drop prices 3 days after you buy, they'll PM it.

merry xmas all.

Klipsch 4.1 is going down in price... the 4.1 is 150 after MIR, free pickup ... I went down to CompUSA, BB, and Circuit city and I have to say that compared to everything, "NOTHING IS A KLIPSCH" Sound clarity, bass control, good looks, power... its simply the best in that range, but don't take my word for it go hear any 4.1 config side by side and you'd agree... the only klipsch killers that come close are the altec 641 but those retail for about the same as the klipsch 4.1 is going for right now.

the z560's are nice, but the bass is just too much. its great for those who like their bass to kick them in the head, but in terms of clarity and bass control that is true to the actual singer's voice or sound reproduction the klipsch is in a league of its own. besides the z560's are infamous for blowing up 1 of 5 does. To all the killer brandings I say this "Often imitated, never reproduced"

do a search in Hot Deal for Klipsch and u'l find the deal, 150 AR, plus MSN dollars to be spent online, that's 110 for ya.

I will also have to agree that While MegaWorks & Z560 can thereotically be compared to Klipsch, the only K-killer is Altec Lansing 641. The top end model (forgot which one) from Monsoon has excellent audio reproduction, thought its power is a little lacking compared to K.

And btw, 400watts rated Z560 is not continuous RMS, it's only peak. its real power rating is 100 + 15*4 = 160.

read the reviews on Pricegrabber.com, here is the users ranking:
1.) Creative Megaworks 5.1
2.) Klipsch 4.1
3.) Logitech z640
4.) Creative Inspire 5300 5.1

Now my requirements:
1.) No kick in the face bass.
2.) less $
3.) style

PRICE WATCH EVERYONE KEEP EYES PEELED FOR THIS. Word on the net is that Creative is releasing Cambridge Soundworks Creative Megaworks 6.1 Speaker Systems later this year, if anyone knows anything about this hit this forum topic. I believe prices should be falling like pigeon sh!t from the sky when this happens. Especially if they hit that up after Christmas. Is it true shopping is good pickin's after Christmas? Monitoring Buy.com's Logitech z640 and the NewEgg.com Powercolor ATI Radeon 9700 Pro to see what happens.

Bass control is not an issue with the Z-560s.

You can use software control to lower the bass all the way to to zero if you wanted to.

Are those really any better than the 510d's? Or is it just the THX certification?

Also, does anyone know if Altec is going to have a 641 grade 5.1 sys anytime soon? (651??) I'd like to wait for those.

I'm pretty sure that anyone that called the 560's "Klipsch Killers" was very aware the the sound of the 560's isn't as nice as the Klipsch, but considering that at the time the 560's were $150 avg. while the Klipsch were $400, I'm sure that alot of people said "I'll take 85% of the quality for 37% of the price, I know I did, as since I was living w/ my brother at the time, and he has the Klipsch 4.1's and we were both in the same room to compare them... I can say that for the money, I got a sreaming deal compared to the Klipsch. and I'm very happy with the sound.

I believe that the Klipsch 4.1s have MSRP'd from $250 to $300... never up to $400.

I just got the Logitech z640s from newegg.com for a Christmas present and just set them up tonight. I would have liked the 560's but they cost 2x the amount when shipped plus I don't really have a place that I can crank them up to really appreciate them. So far the 640s sound good but I haven't had a chance to crank them up. Definitely a nice upgrade from my two Benwin speakers. MP3's and Star Wars Episode II sound really good. The 640s were $67 plus $7 shipping I think. I think the retail around $100 at BB.
