Logitech z680 Spotted! Best Buy B&M:

I spotted a couple boxes of z680's at a local best buy... cash in on it now and use the 10% off coupon!

These things look sooo sweet, I wish i had the cash to spend on them!

I have the 560s and they are great -- are the 680's that much better??

the 560's if im not mistaken are just the 5.1 speakers, these actually have some power behind them

Huh? 560's is a 400 Watt 4.1 Speaker system. The 680's is a 500 Watts (I believe) 5.1 Speaker System. MAjor differences are the LCD Control Panel and the center channel speaker.

I think you are talking about the 640's which is a 5.1 speaker system with a total of 57 or so Watts.

The 560 is 400w 4.1 system, while the new 680 is 450w 5.1 system. The 680 looks really nice, but a little too much money right now. Also the 560s should be dropping in price soon, since the 680 is out on the market. Have my eyes on them.

The 680's are nice, but if you have the 560's, that's fine for now, unless you MUST have the very best immediately.

definitely much better, just w/ the digital optical and coaxial input will make the sound quality a lot better, not to mention hardware dts decoding

Okay, here's some info I found:

Z680 sku is 4838965

However, the price I was quoted is $399.99 (which would make sense, being that this is a retail outlet and $399.99 is the retail price)

I don't know who said the Z-680's were 500 watt... but to the best of my knowledge the Z-680's are actually 450 watts. I also think the Z-560's have a 188 watt bass, while the Z-680's only have 185... In my own opinion, I would only spend the money and upgrade if you need 5.1... Shouldn't make too much difference for music, games, and divx.

I live in cincinnati, OH and there were boxes, and a display system underneath a display of the sony windows xp media edition system or something, I didn't have a chance to listen to them :-\ because the store was closing (bummer) but they looked pretty sweet, I liked the digital control etc..

surround sound systems are complete waste of money unless you fully intend to set them up right. the speakers must be at same height, the distance from the center to front speakers must equal to the distance from center to listener. throw in other factors like wires all over the place and drilling and mounting on the wall, i'd rather go with a well balanced 2.1 setup than a out of phase 5.1 setup.

true... but u know , 2.1 setup just ain't as good as 4.1 where you can actually hear the music from the back of your head ...

I just sold my z560's for more than i paid for the 5 months ago. Out to Best buy now.

Just got em from my BB... they're $399.99 + tax though. UGH! And it's missing one speaker wire to boot!

So, if someone can enlighten me as to how you can get them for $315, let me know...

I don't intend on keeping these especially if the price at your store was so much lower, so it's probably a good idea I didn't use the coupon just yet... Can you call them, give them that SKU, and make sure that the price indeed is $315? According to two Best Buys in my area, the computer price is the same nationwide.
