I'm wondering if will take large numbers of children to die to put an end to this fucking nonsense? Didn't Chickenpox killed young children every year? Or am I thinking of Measles?
Measles would be the more dangerous between the two, by a fairly large magnitude I think.
I was born in the mid-late 80s and definitely remember the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) shots. But I was also just about the last generation to experience natural chickenpox. And I guess I had it pretty bad. Still treated at home level so not *that* bad in the grand scheme of things.
Think of it this way: there is always a chance you can die from chickenpox, or any virus for that matter. But death is not the only bad outcome. Diseases like guillain barre syndrome (GBR) and a host of other diseases are possible as complications from any significant viral infection.
And yes, like any viral load on the immune system, those are also a possible side effect from vaccinations. It's more rare from vaccinations than it is as a side effect from actual live natural infection, but it is still a remote possibility. Enough of a possibility that basically someone somewhere is going to get something like GBR from a vaccine every year, but fewer than those who get it from actual infections. You're playing a stupid lottery game by purposefully skipping vaccinations, and worse, people then risk the lives and health of others around them who cannot control for that variable, especially those who are physically unable to get vaccines due to any number of reasons.
