1/3 + 2/3 = 3/3 = 1

.3333... + .6666... = .9999... = 1

That is not a proof. using rounded numbers won't get you anywhere.

It's basically the fact that there are no numbers between 0.99~ and 1, and that's why they're the same.

Face it... Until someone can prove this in a real life application, there will always be doubters. Frankly, I'm amazed that the Mythbusters haven't given it a try. Even if they did try it, though, they would need to revisit the myth half a dozen times. I can only imagine the rantings from all the disappointed fans who will be pissed when they can't get the plane to take off
