mafia 1 was a great PC exclusive (which later got ported to consoles but with clear quality reduction)
mafia 2 was a decent multiplatform, PC even had the silly physX effects and a benchmark mode
mafia 3 is a bad port locked at 30FPS and blurry to the point it doesn't look native res?

I guess that's how things are progressing, but other than that, I've watched some gameplay (from the ps4) and thought the game looked pretty interesting,

Its OK, making things 4k is just as good as having next gen graphics. Hell if Mafia still runs smooth at 4k, then just up it to 8k -- even better!! Don't worry about the lack of detail/view distance/clarity.

Dang. I loved Mafia 2, spent so many quality hours with that game. This looks like a big smack in the face for PC gamers. See you in the bargain bin, Mafia 3. By then you'll at least be patched up to be a reasonable PC game

Nope. If I had an i7 2600k, I might try for 60fps, but man, 30fps ain't anywhere near as dreadful as people keep talking about.

'Course, there are a couple games that use an awful timer in their renderer, making 30fps feel janky, but they're exceptions. Most notable one would be Mount And Blade.

It is dreadful. Especially galling on PC where we are supposed to have a choice. As for DS, lol, playing that at 60FPS with the resolution turned up was a revelation. It was a completely different game. And yes, the framerate in that game hurt the gameplay. You can't tell me you didn't find Blighttown to be a near disaster running at or below 30FPS at times with the hostile enemies and environment. It would have been so much more enjoyable to play that section of the game at 60FPS+.

mafia 3 looks like a console port and not worth the 80 CAD they are asking for it.

Blighttown was fine. Just have to occasionally move your camera up a bit in order to avoid looking at all the lower geometry. Biggest problem with Dark Souls was the enforced VSync. Unlock the framerate but still capped at 30fps, and it doesn't really impact yer frames that much.

30fps sucks. Even 60fps is borderline once you've experienced 144fps goodness..

I don't know how the first point leads to the second. I play quite a few games with a PC hooked up to my TV and with a gamepad and I much prefer 60fps to 30fps
