I know, its fucking ridiculous. Whether we like her is not even the issue...its that we didn't even know she existed until two weeks ago, and she's only been governor for less than two years! I love Alaska, but the largest city is only like 300,000 people, and contains almost half of state's total population, while the capital is the size of a small town in the Midwest! Are we actually going to elect some unknown 40 year old church lady from a little village outside the Continental US to confront ex-KGB villain Vladimir Putin and his sidekick Adolf Ahmadinejad?! Its un-fucking-believable!!!

My Fellow Americans: I was a conservative too until Bush came along, and I agree that McCain is a true American hero...but think about what you're doing! Just because you think this lady is pretty or like her down-home folksy attitude does not mean some hockey-mom should lead the free world into World War III!

And I don't think Nancy Pelosi should lead this country either. That is exactly what will happen if rubber stamp Obama is elected. I only hope McCain is elected and can live 4 years of beautifull gridlock and compromise.

Rubber stamp Obama? WTF are you talking about? Stop spreading fucking lies Republican slime.

This seems to be the #1 trick in the conservative playbook. Whenever you point out their lies and hypocrisies they just say, well the other guy is like totally worse. Fucking idiots.

Really? Based on what exactly? That she put a plane on ebay, came in second in a beauty contest, or has 5 kids? Seriously, what makes you assume she is up to the challenge? She was the mayor of a small town, and for less than two years has been the governor of a state in which even the largest city is a small to medium town by the standards of the rest of the country? McCain only met her once or twice, and she has NO foreign policy experience...so again, how could you possibly be confident that she can stare down Vladimir Stalin?

If people are going to make assumptions that Obama is going to rubber stamp pelosi's agenda

then other people can make assumptions that McCain is going to drop dead before a first term is over.

politics sucks that way.

List all these times Obama went against Pelosi. With a super majority Pelosi will be able to pass any crazy law she wants. The only thing stopping them from being law is a president who will veto her.

I cannot stand Nancy Pelosi, Jimmy Carter, etc., either, and I am far from being a "liberal" or even a Democrat...but cold hard logic dictates that my first priority should be NOT electing the mini-van lady from next door to tangle with Darth Putin and Osama bin Laden!

What has Obama done 143 days in the senate? He has more experience running for president than he does being a senator.

Chicago, IL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ANYWHERE IN MOTHERFUCKING ALASKA

What the fuck is so hard to understand about that? Alaska is in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM representative of anything in mainstream America. Her experience as governor there is about as useful to the VP spot as my experience running a lemonade stand when I was 5.

what has Obama said or done to make you think he'd buck his own party? he's voted on party lines 97% of the time.

(McCain is somewhere between 79-88% according to google)

edit: my Obama numbers were too low according to factcheck

I'm not even talking about Obama, I'm talking about hockey-mom church lady vs. our most powerful and ruthless enemies. These are serious, evil men, and they WILL NOT take this klondike bar seriously.

That's probably the biggest character problem I personally have with Obama-- he doesn't strike me as the type of person who would stick out his neck politically to do what he believes is right. All of his stances are populist-based. I disagree with McCain's stances on a whole-range of issues, but I believe he is much more likely to do what he believes is right without considering the political consequences.

Maybe so...but he's 72, and if he dies, Mary Tyler Moore takes over the planet...

Yes because having a President who does what he believes is right with no regard for the opions of anyone else has worked out so well for us.

The thing is .. we don't even like hockey!

Federal subsidies for the NHL?

Hockey replacing baseball as America's pastime?

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks replacing the Dallas Cowboy's as America's team?

Monday Night Hockey ?

Just think of the consequences!

Do you realize that there is a line of people in Alaska who did not take her seriously until she kicked their asses.

Starting with the three term mayor of Wasilla who she beat.
Then Frank Murkowski who spent 20 years in the Senate before became governor. She killed him the PRIMARY winning 51% of the vote in a 3 way race.
She then beat a two term former Democrat governor 48-41.

I am sure that everyone of these guys dismissed her as some fool hockey mom, right up until she kicked their asses on election day.

Frank Murkowski is not Vladimir Putin, he was not in the KGB, and he had no nuclear weapons.

Ok, now please explain to me how Obama is qualified to deal with Putin.

How seriously are they going to take a guy who said that Russia and Georgia should take their differences to the UN and have them worked out there.

Is he running for President or playground monitor???
