Long Haul Fiber Channel

Hello;
What kind performance would everyone be happy with, if distance was no longer a limitation of fiber channel?

I am not interested in all the games storage companies play with I/O's per sec. I am looking for sustained transfer rates over a few hours

what kind of performance numbers? when it can keep up with the network would be the first place to start. Sustained 100 MBytes/sec. Oh wait...10 Gig ether is coming out soon...make that 1000 MBytes/sec.
