I'm going to be starting an independant study for a credit during my last semesterr at college (undergrad). I'm going to be doing alot of research on wirless technologies in general, but I'm starting with a range boost.
Everythings already researched and designed, except for one thing.
Its going to involve 2 sattelites, 2 laptops, and a 50 mile+ gap. But what I need is a way to add some gain to the signal. (everything else is taken care of)
I've found a few 2.4-2.5 GHz amps (such as this one http://www.radiolabs.com/produ...ess/wifi-amplifier.php )
I'm going to need a fairly strong boost, but the 3.5dB noise worries me.
Its also somewhat expensive.
Are there any other ways to amp this?
