LOTR - Return of the King.

I'd say Magnolia which was only 188 mins but felt like it would never end, probably because it was utter shite.
In reality the longest was probably Das Boot, though that may not count as I believe it was originally aired as a mini-series

That doesn't account for the quantum time dilation that occurs when you're stuck watching Gone With the Wind on the only tv in the house. Want to live forever? Put GWtW on perpetual loop. It'll feel like you're *living forever.

Yeah.. Gone With The Wind on network TV with commercials and station breaks runs about 6 hours. I vaguely remember my grandparents watching it, and it basically took up the TV all afternoon.

Also not the longest but the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven is one of my favorites coming in at 190 minutes, 46 minutes longer then the regular version, I originally didn't care for it because Orlando bloom was fresh in my mind from Lord of the rings.
But as time went by and the director's cut came out I have changed my mind, great movie.

I liked Kingdom of Heaven (directors cut) much more than once upon a time in America (directors cut).

I remember seeing Ghandi in Waikiki when it came out, I think it was 4 hours long.

I have probably watched longer things at home, but I think that was the longest thing I imagine in a theater.

One of the only movies I had ever seen had an intermission at the two hour point.

The 10th kingdom (TV show) had some DVD/blu-ray release that was basically the entire show in one long run... didn't do openers/credits for each 'episode', that comes out to like 6 and a half hours.

For actual movie? One of the super/extended/whatever cut LOTRs or good/bad/ugly, whichever's longer I guess.

When my wife was out of town about a month ago I watched the Godfather Epic on HBO. It is essentially the director's cuts of Godfather I and II movies. Total time 424 minutes, or approximately 7.5 hours. I took about an hour break for lunch inbetween since it was like being at my job for an entire day.

I watched all 312 minutes of Fanny & Alexander in one sitting. (Film version was cut to like 2-3 hours, but, it was re-released in its entirety in 5 parts.) I love Bergman, his movies are fantastic.

I have seen about 1/2 of "The Best of Youth", planning to watch the second half eventually. (400 minutes)

I started working my way through Shoah on Amazon with the sundance doc club ... its around 600 minutes .... It is really really hard to watch through, as its really really fucking dark. But I think it is one of the most important films ever to be filmed.

Huh? I recall the older character being nude, but not the younger version of the character (played by Connelly). Maybe you are confusing this role for the thousands of other roles where Connelly was nude?

I believe Lawrence of Arabia is longer? Maybe not.Heaven's Gate is quite a bit longer than OUATIA (depends on the version, though), but I never saw it.

There's 2 of those: the original DC and then the more recent "redux" or whatever it was called, that added the previously snipped scenes regarding the Frenchie contingency and politics. That was long as balls for sure.
