While hosting “The Don Geronimo Show” on BIG 100, Geronimo, whose real name is Michael Sorce, referred to WUSA-TV sports anchor Sharla McBride as “Barbie girl” as she arrived to cover the team’s second day of camp. He added, “I’m guessing she’s a cheerleader,” and later referred to her as “that chick.”
Would Howard Stern survive in today's zero tolerance sexism environment?
I mean, the comments are kinda weird. Like, why even say that stuff? What purpose did those words serve?
Sometimes my 7yo son will say something either offensive or rude or excessiveoy gross and we insist on asking why he said that and the best he can do is "I don't know..." or "I thought it would be funny but guess not..."
Seems to be how a lot of these guys operate.
First of all, sports talk radio is one of the dumbest things anywhere and people shouldn't listen to it. It's just noise from the hosts and even more noise from all the idiots that call in thinking they have important things to say about their stupid sports teams. They don't.
Second, and more importantly, this is the dumb sports talk show for the Washington football team. What kind of fucking lunatic numbskull do you have to be to think this chatter is OK from within a franchise that was just blasted, the owner forced to sell, and fined 10s of millions of dollars for a rampant culture of sexual abuse and rape throughout the organization while said shitty owner profits billions in a sale of the shitty team and literally shitty stadium?
I guess it follows with my first point: All of it is dumb and useless and just caters to really stupid people. The second point is only possible because the first point is universally true.

Just looked her up. The guy has a point.I was about to sort of say the same thing but I just googled her and if there's any chick that looks almost identical to a barbi, shes it lol. Show a pic of her to your 7 year old son and ask him who she looks like I would be interested to see what he says. That and the whole movie sparking kind of a buzz, idk.
That's my biggest problem with Stern. I used to hear him early in his career when he was brodcasting out of New York on AM when I was living in CT. He had an assistant then name Bonnie Beducia or something really close to that. He used to call her Bonnie duchebag and she did not like it. I thought he was a sexist shit then, and I still have never really given him a break over it. So, I don't think he would survive today with the same shtick.

Seems like progress to me. We don't do deep knee bends, use lead paint or asbestos, and bleed patients to fix "humours" because we have educated ourselves. Or should we go back to those "good old days" too?
