Look inside shuttle!!!!

Anybody waiting for shuttle to come out with new XPC that includes

a. the new intel canterwood chipset(agp8x, dual ddr, gigabit eithernet, etc, etc)
b. at least a 350w power supply


Sounds like the canterwood is ideal for a SFF system
I don't mind the boxes being a little big bigger either for cooling and components sake.
I think shuttle my need to redesign them to make them just a tad bigger.

Why on Earth would you need a 350W power supply in something as small as a Shuttle XPC?!? It only has three drive bays, and two internal expansion slots! Even if you put a GeForce FX 5800 Ultra in it, you're not going to need more than 275 Watts.

Actually, I've heard of people running systems simular to that one with the stock 200W power supply. The only thing that I haven't heard of being done on that list is the 10,000 RPM drive, which I would be afraid to do with the stock cooling in a Shuttle XPC.

Anyway, there was a guy from Shuttle in these forums a while back, and he said that a Canterwood version of the XPC was in the works. I don't think that he offered an ETA, though.

That makes no sense...it totally goes against the purpose of SFF systems.

a 1/2"-1" to each dimenson wouldn't be much but would prolly do wonders inside....

i'm not saying double the size of the box or anything

It's still dumb. If anything, they should be getting smaller. If you want better cooling and expansion, but an mATX system.
