I believe that most of the population do not know first aid, and Good Samaritan Law only cover trained medical professional (and Good Samaritan Law do not cover medical professional out side of work in many US States). Therefore, run for help is the best thing that the person can do.

I believe it's a transport that lost a wheel. That is the tire from a typical flat bed transport, possibly a logging truck.

The odds that it rolled off and actually hit that guy are still quite incredible. I would imagine if a tire that big falls off a truck it would do so slowly and it would drag for a bit then bounce around, and not actually roll perfectly, but it did.

I'm guessing the put the pump back on to make sure it stops pumping in case the hose got damaged, then went for help. It's bad enough to get hit by a tire like that, you don't need an explosion at the end.

Large styrofoam brick flew off the back of a truck a few years back and nailed the windshield of my mom's van on the passenger side - while I was sitting there. Luckily nothing broke. I kept telling my mom to call the trucking company and complain, but she never did.

If you noticed on the video, the time lapses from like :16 to :35, then the lady pops up. Who knows, maybe during that time she was running from her car yelling "OMG ARE YOU OK!? I'm going to go get help inside!"
