Looking for a brand/model of sports car from the 80's

My uncle used to have a sports car from the mid 80's.

I am trying to think of the brand or model, but it was somewhat of a weird brand.

I am looking for suggestions as to what it might be, so I can try to remember.

The car looked sort of like an early 90's mustang.

thats no where NEAR normal looking. thats an exotic in all ways you cut it.

and there are only a few in the U.S. from the 80's, under 100 i believe. and their were 2 versions in the 80's the GT5, and the GT5s, i know an owner of the GT5s.

GT5 from 80-85, then GT5s from 85-(i forget) but not many were sold in the U.S. at all
