Looking for a Computer Architecture book...

I looked through my books but they all require some deep background. You could always try the Hennessy/Patterson Computer Architecture: A Quantitative Approach and then lookup books for the background topics as they appear.

IMO your best bet is to learn how your regular PC works if you don't already. Then try to get in on some basic electronics using breadboards. Not sure what kits are available or courses you can take outside of Physics.

Quantitative Approach isn't nearly as good as Hardware/Software Interface (their first book), and requires much more background.

I'll have a look at the first book then thanks. I'm fairly intelligent I guess, so I'll try and pick up the other concepts via other means.
