Looking for a great laptop under $1000

I want to know where I can find a laptop with the following features under $1000.

P intel chip (the chip is one of my main goals)
4 gigs
dedicated video card
13-15.? inch
Battery life is important
Harddrive (speed not size)
sound (loud would be nice)
light weight
name brand (would be nice)
bluetooth is a plus

I have looked at many stores but no dice. Maybe I can find a better deal online. Any suggestions?

Well, here's what I did recently.

I bought a Lenovo SL300 13.3 incher for $749 @ newegg. It comes with an Intel P8400, which rocks my world. Bought a Hitachi 7K320 7200 rpm drive (fast). Bought 2x2GB DDR2-800 SODIMMs seperatley, total cost is under $1,000 and it will be a speed deamon.

HOWEVER, my machine comes with the Intel HD4500 graphics in it, which wouldn't cut it for you. Discrete graphics in my machine would be nice, but this machine will never play games nor do I plan to watch much HD content on it (I've got nice powerful desktops for this purpose) so it was a non-issue for me.

So I guess what' I'm saying is find a laptop for about $600 to $800 with discrete graphics and the P processor you want. Then add a fast HD and upgrade the memory on your own if you can't quite find the combination you want from any of the stores.

I personally have no qualms buying a laptop from Newegg or other online vendors as long as I can RMA if there are problems. I know it's easier to stick with the direct sales model and buy straight from dell/lenovo/hp, especially when there are hot coupons floating around.

You can get a Dell XPS 1530 for $999 with Core 2 Duo T6600, 4GB RAM, 320GB (slow 5400RPM), 15.4" screen, 128MB Geforce 8400M GS. I think you can throw in bluetooth for $20. Check out http://www.dell.com/content/pr...?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

Another from Dell:

Studio 15
Upgradede the CPU to a P8600, added the high res display, uped to 4GB of memory. changed to a 250GB 7200RPM HD, changed from Dell to Intel 5100 Wireless, added backlit keyboard, and fingerprint reader. Game out to 1134. Apply the $250 coupon they have floating around and you could get it for $884, which leaves room in the budget to do thing like add a bigger battery, larger HD, nice case, ect.
