Hello everone,
I am a quite successful student at my current community college. I am the top student at school (I said top because I was chosen for Who's Who (10/11000) of my college).
I am enthusiastic, quick to learn and ready to commit to time to learn the job I would take. However, I have not been successful so far with finding a tech job here in Northern Virginia, DC region.
I landed a job as a PC Technician here at Circuit City (I basically troubleshoot hardware and do spyware/virus scan, installing OS and stuff).
I would really appreciate it if you would take some time and give me some suggestions on what I should do in order to get an internship. I am planning on doing internship all the way starting next year to the Fall semester (january - august) during which I would transfer to a university (and get a scholarship there or so) (plan might change if I am featured in All-USA Academic Team 2005, which I am pretty sure I would ^_^).
My interest is Web App (Ajax w/ LAMP, AI, definitely *nix).
I have another question too, between devoting my time to an Open Source project (like becoming a professional Mambo (Joomla) component coder) and try to find an internship, which one would be better. (I have quite some exprience with administering Mambo site although not much of a developer yet but I learn quick (as mentioned above)).
Hopefully hearing from you guys soon.
