Looking For A New Laptop...

Well, my mum is... She's just gonna be using it to write letters, upload photos too, and browse the internet, so it doesn't need to be anything too fancy. I've never been upto date with laptops so need some help on this.

We'd be looking at a base to midrange model so just a few hundred is about what we want to spend..

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I'm guessing we're looking at a 14.1 or 15.4 inch laptop here? A "few" hundred gets you nothing. Do you mean somewhere around $600-$800?

A few hundred (like 300-400) will get you a second hand laptop... something like a turion 64 1.6GHz with 256-512MB of ram and 20-40GB HD.. approximately, Turion 64 could be replaced with a pentium M of similar speed for the same price range.

Yea sorry i was thinking a few hundred pounds, so about 600-900 dollars....
