I've had a Dell 24" monitor for several years now and I have been happy with it, but it does not seem big any more, so I am thinking about getting a new one.
I do lots of gaming, but I do even more browsing so I need to be able to read on it.
My face is roughly 3' away from the screen. I sometimes have trouble reading text on my 24" and have to lean forward. I also go a long time between pc upgrades and don't really want to be stuck trying to play games at super high resolutions with an aging graphics card.
For these 2 reasons, I thought a larger screen with the same or lower resolution might not be such a bad idea.
So I was thinking about a 32, 37 or even 40" 1080p HDTV, because if I'm going to spend the money, I want to notice the size difference, but I'm seeing people say that text will be horrible on an HDTV.
So does anyone have any opinions on a monitor like this?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009269 it has a built in tv tuner, but I don't care about that and won't be using it
I don't want to bother with a new 24", and even 27" seems like it wouldn't be that much bigger, or noticable enough to be worth the upgrade. Correct me if I'm wrong on that and you think 27" is a big size difference. I haven't been able to see them side by side
I've been running my 24" on XP with a Radeon 4870, but the new system will use a GTX560 and Windows 7 Pro. I only mention the OS because I saw some other threads where people said the OSs scale text differently.
