1. My new pc that I would want to build would be for gaming.

2. My budget would be $1600-$2000

3. I would be buying the parts from canada

4. I would be purchasing the parts from
www.canadacomputers.com
www.newegg.com

5. I would prefer an intel build.

6. I don't plan on using any older parts.

7. I don't plan on overclocking but given that I would be playing on a tv I will take any and all recommendations on what would be best.

8.I have a 58" 1080p tv that I would like to play on, but going to upgrade to a 4k.

9. I would be building it mid October.

10. I have windows 8 but would be interested in blu-ray playback.

Thanks so much^_^

Might want to check back when ready to buy as most recommendations will be based on rebates and combo deals that are happening at the time. Too soon to predict best bang for the buck with a build that is 2 or 3 weeks away.

Some things might change but I don't think 2 weeks away is too early to put together a basic build.

How soon do you plan to upgrade to a 4K TV? A build for that resolution is significantly different than one for 1080P.

I would say probably next February is when I would plan on purchasing the TV. So even if I had to build my pc now based on a 4k TV for the future would be ideal I suppose.

This is an amazing 1080P or 1440P build.

My thoughts on cutting down costs a little:

-Drop down to an i5 4670 or this Xeon version of an i7. 4790K is still an excellent choice, but you may find an i5 or cheaper i7 to be sufficient.
-Change to an H97 chipset (no need for Z if not overclocking).
-Stick with the 860w PSU, it should be plenty for a pair of 980's without overclocking considering the combined TDP of the CPU and two cards barely comes out over 400w.
-Drop the H100i, which will be unnecessary if not overclocking. It might be a good idea to pick up at least a cheap aftermarket tower heatsink though.

It's probably a good idea to buy just one 980 for now and pick up the second when the 4K screen arrives, as prices may have come down a little. I think you'll want the second card for 4K.

Also, at $160 the AX860 is extremely expensive for what it is. A normal Seasonic-built 850W like XFX Core 850W will run you $94 AR.
