looking for a program to lock folders

is there a good program out there that will lock/hide/encrypt folders in win2k?

I know that magic folders worked well in Win95/98 but I never tried it in 2k. But I would look into it.

Win2K is built for this. You need to make sure the partition with folders you want to secure is NTFS. If it is then you will be able to right-click on the folder, click on the security tab, and from there you can set per-user or per-group permissions.

If you aren't running NTFS, then you will have a fun time trying to convert FAT32 to NTFS. I believe it can be done with Partition Magic, but I am not completely sure. Anyone else know if this is possible?

the partition i am referring to is FAT, not NTFS. but i thought win2k could only protect folders from other users when they relog in. I'm asking for some sort of password when I want to open up my documents folder or for it to be hidden altogether.

Why don't you just prevent other users from accessing the folder?

This will allow you to see your folders without worrying about other users messing with them.

Perhaps if you explain the scenario a bit better someone will have a better solution.
