Looking for a receiver to drive my Polk Lsi9 speakers.

So, I got a really good deal (less than $300 for the pair) on a pair of Polk LSI9 speakers, and I am looking for a reciever or amp/preamp to drive them. Right now, I am using an old Onkyo receiver that I got from CL for $20, but I really want something better.

I am looking to spend less than $500, and I am not afraid of buying used or old items.

I looked at the Outlaw Audio RR2150. It is nice, but it is about $200 more than I want to spend.

What are your suggestions?

The HK3490 is getting a little long in the tooth, but it's a sweet sounding receiver if all you need are 2 channels. It's the only 2ch receiver I'm aware of with a toslink input, if that's important to you.

What are you trying to play on your speakers? This might help answer your question in more detail.

If you're after just music from an analog input, you have lots of options.

If you're after something coming in from an HDMI input, your pre-pro options are very limited at that price point.

To answer your question, I am using analog input. I play lots of compact discs and lossless computer audio files with a wide range of musical selections.
