I posted this on techimo as well, but no one seemed to bite so I thought I would post over here and see what happens.
I'm looking into buying a new laptop for my parents. They don't need anything great, but at the same time I'm looking for the best deal for the money. I've been looking around, watching the sales and stuff. Today I saw this one in the local Office Max ad. I just have a few questions:
1. What is the difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo processors. So far the only thing I've been able to discern is difference in clock speed and a larger L2 cache for the core 2 duo. Are these the only differences and do they make that big of a difference? Also, how does the pentium dual core compare to these?
2. Would it be adviseable to wait until after april or thereabouts when intel is supposed to drop the prices on processors, or does that only apply to desktop processors?
3. Has anyone seen any better deal while browsing around that they would like to share? I've tried parting together laptops @ dell, etc but can't seem to get anywhere close to this.
Thanks,
Vyx
