Looking for feedback on a tablet for my kids

I need a tablet for road trips to play videos for my kids. I was thinking about this one and the only thing I don't like about it is 16gb storage. But for the price I feel the features out way the storage issue. Anything I'm missing? Anything I should look at instead?

If you want to play videos you should probably find something with more than 16GB of storage, though I suppose it depends how much they want to watch and how much variety they need (and if they will tolerate lower bitrate).

It has a micro-SD port, so storage is expandable.

how many kids? More than one?

I'd get 2 8-inchers then. They might not always agree on what to watch.

How old are the kids? If they're under 10 you may want to get iPads. Android isn't very kid friendly. My friends and I have a pile of cheap tablets we bought for the kids and it never worked out. There was always some reason why they wouldn't work and it took a parent fix. That's a pain while your driving.

I don't really get this. iPads has the worst UI of all tablet OS's. The lack of a back button has completely ruined that OS, you are forced to go memorize a bunch of stupid swipe gestures to do anything. I still have not figured out how to go back to a previous youtube video using the app. The real issue with android tablets is that most of the apps are designed for phone so they look like crap on android tablets.

Issues with SD cards are mostly reliability and performance. It would probably be OK to dump videos on their to watch. Always easier to buy larger base storage if you can afford it, though if you need to buy additional SD card anyway the cost isn't that much more.

I just picked up the Amazon Fire HD8 with Alexa (the newest model) for $50 with adds and a 64gb MicroSD card for $17. Works great for watching video.
