I have been doing a massive amount of reading about cases and I am looking to see what people are using.

My requirements are:

1. Top mounted PSU
2. Wide box (my cpu cooler is 158mm tall)
3. Able to fit the largest of GPUs

Nothing at this point is screaming buy me.

Suggestions?

1. budget.
2. do you mind squares/Boxes?
3. Open or closed? (im assuming closed because of top PSU)

Can i ask why u want a top mounted PSU?

My personal Full ATX cases are:
1. Silverstone TJ-07 (bottom PSU Only)
2. Corsair 800D
3. CM Stacker T01 (its old but i love this case)
4. Lian Li Series Case

What i use:
1. MMods UFO (its a cube, a big cube)
2. DD Torture rack. (its an open style case)
3. CM Stacker T01
4. Thermal Take Armor.
5. TJ-07

I wanna get a 800D. Those things are pretty much the most convenient case u can get for wire management.

1. No real budget and dont mind buying quality equipment.
2. Design isnt as important as how well it 'works'
3. Closed. Between kids and pets someone would lose a digit.

Top mount to keep it from getting killed with dust, dirt and pet hair.

My current tower is a CM Stacker.

The cubes are a little crazy, not sure I want something that big.

did you take a look at the corsair 800D?

The TJ07 is also very well built quality case just like the Lian Series.

I actually prefer the bottom mounted PSU, because it makes cable routing behind the board a bit cleaner.

Yea I looked at the Cosair (another bottom mount). As well as some of the Silverstones, Thermaltake, Cooler Master and Lian Li

So far its LIAN LI PC-P80.
I did like the Thermaltake VA9003BWS, but the clearance using the side fan isnt enough space for my cpu cooler.

Robber have you ever considered building your box right with good filters?

And sacrifice a little on the looks?

If you use good filters, it will catch all that crap, and with good filters, there easily cleanable.

Since price isn't an object, your probably in the market for a Lian Li or a Silverstone. Still, have you looked at the Cooler Master ATCS 840? I'll offer it up as a lower-cost alternative that still retains a high degree of quality. It's an all-aluminum full tower with an array of handy features, including excellent cable management. Temperatures are said to be quite reasonable (I'm basing this on reviews, mind you; I'm about to purchase one myself). There's an incredible amount of space inside for expansion; you should have no trouble fitting in your CPU cooler or an over-sized video card like a Radeon 5xxx. Dust filters, one-touch drive locking/unlocking, and a removable motherboard tray are some of the case's other features.

The ATCS 840 comes in silver ($194) and black ($199).

I was just about to suggest this case. I just purchased these for all my boxes at our house and as Corsairs has suggested it meets almost all your requirements. I haven't unboxed them yet, but you can catch a video review over at 3dgameman. Rodney cracks me up.

Yep that's the best that meets your requirements.

My only gripe is the side panels are a bit thin and will dent easily if it falls over. Everything is aluminum all the way around and it's wide enough to accommodate the tallest coolers.

If you're handy with tools and cable management matters you can easily run everything under the motherboard tray.

I don't see why you would need to worry any more about dust and pet hair with a bottom mounted PSU than with a top mounted PSU. It is not absolutely necessary to have the fan on the bottom pulling air from outside the case. It is perfectly fine to have it pull air from inside the case...just as it would be doing with a top mounted PSU. Remember, PSU fans are not designed to blow air into the case. An 80mm fan that faces into the case will be pulling air into the PSU, an 80mm fan that faces outside of the case will be blowing air out of the PSU and a 120MM fan will be pulling air into the PSU.
