I am looking, also, for a KT7-Raid and Small shops are the only ones that have it, no Staples or Buy.com etc... so Pricewatch is the only place I know of now. I am sure others are also looking and if anybody has found a great deal from a good vendor that would be great. Or if you know of a bad vendor that IS to good to be true also list, Cool...

You're going to have to look pretty hard to find places that'll sell them for less than what some of those vendors are selling for on Pricewatch.

hclarkjr, the cheapest I found the Asus A7V is at necxdirect.com, if you look around at some of the other bargain forums you will find a $30 off $150 code. necxdirect has it for $154.95 less $30 and $6.95 for shipping = $131.90 total.

I just recievd my Abit KT7-Raid today (Thursday) after ordering it on Monday from Icompz.com
On thier Special Offers page they have the KT7-Raid for $146 and the Duron 600 for $60, that's $206 for a potential 1GHz machine.
They also have the FOP38 Heatsink/Fan which will compete with the best of them. My experience was very pleasent with them and my order was shipped the next day.

Just FYI, you are running a bit of a risk purchasing a duron 600 from a potentially irreputable vendor. They could easily have tested their durons to see if they'd overclock, then sold the rest. Just be cautious.

Here is their statement...

Another thing to look at is, if you are planning to buy a processor, that you check out the prices for motherboard and processor combos. You can get an a7v with a thunderbird 800 and cpu fan for around $290 shipped on priceline. Or with a 700 duron for around $230 shipped.

Little too late, but thank you. Just finished placing my order for the A7V. I freaked out when I thought I wasn't going to be able to get the discount. This is going to be my first attempt at building a computer. My next step is of course getting a Durron, I saw that they are only about $60 on pricewatch.

I also want to say a big thanks to all of you. I have learned more from this site than in any class.

I built 2 of the a7v last week and they are best and easiest MBs I have used. If you need other advice on where to find any of the other conponents, let me know. I just finished researching the lowest prices I could find to build them.
